The fact that someone out there has something bad to say about Hollywood icon Julia Roberts is mind-boggling to us. But, we suppose there’s a troll for everyone. Unfortunately for Roberts’s troll, their rude comment was no match for the starlet’s wit, and wait, have we been sleeping on Julia Roberts comebacks?
The comeback in question appeared on a post from @thevintagecostumecollector Instagram page. The admin of the page, Nick, uploaded a “who wore it better?” post on September 10th, comparing Roberts in a Dsquared2 red carpet design to Joan Crawford in a similar 1940s ensemble.
Obviously, the comparison is moot because how in the heck are we supposed to choose between two of the most influential actresses ever? We’re clearly just supposed to appreciate both actresses and their style equally, right? Also…let’s not pit women and their styles against each other. The whole “who wore it better?” shtick is sooo old-school, and we think as a society we’re so past that.
Regardless, one Instagram user took it all very seriously. She expressed her opinion in the comments section, and stated that Joan Crawford “looks way better.” She went on to say that she believed Crawford’s ensemble is “classic and refined,” compared to Roberts, who wore “ugly black nail polish!”
Somehow, someway, Roberts saw this comment and decided to come to her own defense. And wow, are we glad she did.

“It is in fact a navy polish with garnets crystals as a grounding accent,” Roberts responded to the nail polish hater. “In case you would like to edit your comment from ‘ugly black nail polish’ to ugly navy polish with Garnet crystals. Just sayin’.”
We’re giving Roberts a standing ovation right now.

Roberts just started using Instagram in June 2018. We’re hoping that, as she gets the swing of things, these amazing troll clap backs will be a common occurrence.
Although, Julia Roberts trolls really need to adjust their priorities. Come on, she’s Julia Roberts.
