Is there anything in the world more precious or pure than a newborn baby? Sure, the crying and sheer terror of taking care of or even holding a new baby can be overwhelming, but isn’t it worth it just to smell that newborn baby smell? Chip and Joanna Gaines are quite familiar with newborns, since — including their newborn son, who was just born the other day — they have five kids.
The famous couple is known best for flipping houses over on HGTV’s Fixer Upper, which has been on the air since 2013. Before their new son’s arrival, they had two boys and two girls.
The littlest Gaines already came with two surprises. For one, he was two and a half weeks early. Secondly, his name is unlike his siblings.
As he joins Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie, fans expected he’d have a name that started with a D like his brothers. While talking to one of his fans, according to Country Living, Chip even outed that it’s a boy, since he was looking for another D name to match. But the Gaines family chose a different path for their littlest son, naming him Crew.
While all of the kids in the Gaines household are cute, Crew is just incredibly sweet. Here are the photos that Joanna Gaines posted online of her brand new arrival.

“They couldn’t wait to meet their new baby brother,” Gaines wrote. It’s nice to know that Crew is already surrounded by so much love.
According to Nameberry, Crew is a relatively new name that recently made the U.S. top 1,000 in 2010. It’s #712 on the list and 339 boys were given the name just last year. We’re guessing that number will grow in the next couple years.
Crew is so adorable that it wouldn’t be surprising if he caused an outbreak of baby fever. There’s just nothing like cuddling up with a sweet newborn.
