Is it just me, or is every enjoyable vice also one that dulls and stains your teeth? I enjoy coffee, tea, red wine, anything with sugar, soda… you know, all of the things that slowly erode the enamel on your teeth and make your chompers look less than fresh. I have tried whitening strips in the past, but most of the time, I have been left with either streaked or achy teeth and gums. I needed a tooth whitening solution that wouldn’t hurt my sensitive teeth. I also needed something that would work on tooth fillings; a couple years back, a too-enthused Maggie chipped one of her front teeth during a lively session of karaoke.
I started to do some research on teeth whitening kits designed for sensitive teeth, and I came across the SNOW Teeth Whitening System. Intrigued by its futuristic glow, I reached out to the company to see if they would be willing to let me give the SNOW Teeth Whitening System a spin. Luckily, SNOW agreed, and I was sent a lovely, velvet-wrapped kit.
For those who are unfamiliar, the SNOW Teeth Whitening System is an FDA-approved, at-home teeth whitening system. Unlike traditional whitening strips, SNOW promises a dentist office-level whitening minus the dentist price.
The entire starter kit comes out to $150 and includes the activating LED light mouth piece, three whitening wands, one desensitizing serum, and a user manual and tooth shade guide, so you can track your whitening journey.
SNOW also donates a portion of each sale to help American kids who need dental care. A product that helps you and children? That’s a win-win.
Using a whitening gel and a LED activating light tray, the SNOW Teeth Whitening System gently removes stains from your teeth in as little as ten minutes a day. Compared to the 20-30 minutes you need to keep strips on, this seemed like a walk in the park. The system is fairly intuitive and easy. Before starting, you need to brush your teeth. Once your teeth are debris-free, you apply the whitening gel to your teeth, avoiding your gums and lips.
This is where it gets fun.

Once the whitening gel is applied, you then plug in the LED activating light tray to your phone using the attached cable. The tray starts to glow a futuristic blue, and then you simply insert the tray into your mouth. I feel like it is an unwritten step that you have to take a selfie while the glow-in-your-mouth tray is in, too, and I’m not the only one; if you check out the Instagram hashtag #SnowTeethWhitening, you will find over a thousand glowing selifes.
I decided to try out the SNOW Teeth Whitening System for a week.
The product’s website says results are visible in as little as three days, but for the full effect, you should use the product about 15-30 minutes a day for three weeks, or 21 days. Would this fancy tech help whiten my coffee-stained teeth? Or would I just look silly with a glowing tray in my mouth?
Day One
I was excited to try out the device and show it off to my coworkers, so I brought the SNOW Teeth Whitening System into the office. After brushing my teeth, I used the whitening wand on my teeth. I plugged the lightning cable into my phone, and the LED activating tray lit up. My coworkers and I were already impressed. I popped the tray into my mouth and continued business as usual as I let the whitening gel and tray do its work.
At first, it felt a little weird having a tray in my mouth for 20 minutes, but it wasn’t uncomfortable or painful. Once my time was up, I went to the bathroom to take out the tray. I rinsed it out, and then swished some water around my mouth to get rid of the remaining whitening gel. I then applied the desensitizing serum to my teeth and a little bit to the edge of my gums, just in case some accidentally got on there. My teeth already felt fine before putting on the desensitizing serum, but it was nice to know I was applying a serum that “strengthens tooth enamel, reduces sensitivity, and returns vitamins and minerals to teeth,” according to the product’s website.
Day Two
This time I decided to switch things up on my commute and use the kit in as I drove into work. Luckily, my commute clocks in right about 25 minutes, so I thought it would be the perfect time to use the SNOW Teeth Whitening Kit. The only thing that bugged me about this round was the fact I couldn’t sing along to all my favorite jams like I usually do to pump myself up during my morning commute. But that’s on me.
I checked out my teeth after rinsing to see if I could notice any difference after two days. I could definitely see a tiny difference. I asked my coworkers if my teeth looked any whiter, and a few could notice a subtle difference already. With whitening strips in the past, the only comments I would get post-use would be about streaks. I became really eager to see what my results would be after the first three days.
Day Three
I used the tray at work again so I could sing during my morning commute. The tray started to feel a lot less awkward on the third day. After rinsing, I checked my teeth against the provided shade guide. On the first day, pre-use, I clocked in at a 7 on the scale – not terrible, but also noticeably stained. Cut to Day Three, and I was already at a 6 on the scale.
This was exciting. Three days into use and I am already seeing results? Talk about getting a bang for your buck.

I was ready to continue using the product and see if I could reach the coveted shade 1.
Days, Four, Five, And Six
For the next few days, I hit my whitening stride. I would get into the office, rebrush my teeth after having a coffee on my way in, and start up the SNOW Teeth Whitening System. By Day Six, my teeth had moved from a solid 6 on the shade guide to what I would qualify as a 4-and-a-half. When I got home from work on Day Six, one of my roommates commented on my teeth and how “fresh” they looked. She didn’t even know I was trying out the SNOW Teeth Whitening System, so this was definitely an ego boost for me.
Day Seven
At the week mark, the SNOW Teeth Whitening System had taken me all the way from a 7 on the shade scale to a solid 4. Lightening up three shades in less than a week–without any irritation or sensitivity–felt nothing short of miraculous. I have definitely spent upwards of $50 on “pro-level” whitening strips in the past that didn’t give me this level of results in a month, let alone a week.
Overall Thoughts
For anyone looking to brighten their smile without necessarily breaking the bank, the SNOW Teeth Whitening System is definitely the way to go. As someone whose teeth hurt when they eat ice cream too quickly, it was also a nice whitening system that didn’t further sensitize my teeth. SNOW recommends using Sensodyne toothpaste in conjunction with their product if you have very sensitive teeth, but I felt fine using my normal toothpaste with the whitening system.
I will definitely continue to use the SNOW Teeth Whitening System for a full 30 days. I have no doubt in my mind that combined with regular oral care, SNOW will get my teeth to that lovely Shade 1, a natural, bright, white tooth.
