Halloween is here! With Halloween, everyone’s love for the spooky and spectacular is in full force. From the home decorations to the costumes to the candy, we can all agree that mysterious and eerie is the vibe for all of October.

And, of course, that includes the snacks, as well! We’ve partnered with our friends at ShopRite to create these fun and easy snacks to bring on the Halloween spirit! With scary dishes such as Bloody Brain Popcorn and Shrunken Head Apple Cider, your friends and family will be impressed by your ability to thoroughly creep them out. But, not so creepy that you can’t eat them. And trust us, you’ll definitely want to!

Monster Apple Bites

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Almonds
  • Wholesome Pantry Granny Smith Apples
  • Wholesome Pantry Honeycrisp Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jam
  • Knife

Directions:

  1. Place Bowl & Basket Almonds in a bowl.
  2. Pour hot water over almonds until submerged. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Squeeze almonds to remove the skin.
  4. Crush or cut almonds into slivers for the teeth. Place to the side.
  5.  Cut Wholesome Pantry Granny Smith Apples and Wholesome Pantry Honeycrisp Apples into quarter slices.
  6. Take one slice of the apple and carve out center to create a mouth.
  7. Spread jam or peanut butter across the center.
  8. Create 5-6 holes with knife on top inside of apple slice.
  9. Place an almond sliver in each hole.
  10. Finish with a strawberry slice in center for the tongue.

Bloody Brain Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Classic Popcorn
  • Strawberry Syrup
  • Microwave
  • Skull Bowl

Directions:

  1. Place Bowl & Basket Classic Popcorn bag in microwave for approximately 3 minutes (or until popping slows down).
  2. Open bag and pour strawberry syrup inside.
  3. Close bag and shake vigorously.
  4. Empty bag into skull bowl.

Party Favor Brooms

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Wholesome Organic Honey Mini Bear Grahams
  • Fun Size Snickers
  • Fun Size M&Ms
  • Brown Paper Bags
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Tape
  • Sticks

Directions:

  1. Take one brown paperbag and cut down lengthwise about a ¼” strip. Repeat cuts across entire bag.
  2. Open bag and lay flat.
  3. Place another half cut paper bag in center and place Bowl & Basket Wholesome Organic Honey Mini Bear Grahams, Fun Size Snickers, and Fun Size M&Ms in half size bag.
  4. Gather up sides.
  5. Place a stick down the center.
  6. Wrap a strip around the loose strands, and place tape to hold.
  7. Wrap and tie a bow around.

Bloody Bandage Graham

Ingredients:  

  • Bowl & Basket Cinnamon Graham Crackers
  • Bowl & Basket Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • White Frosting
  • Red Cookie Icing
  • 2”x2” Square Cookie Cutter
  • Cooking Spray
  • Bent Icing Spatula

Directions:

  1. Take Bowl & Basket Cinnamon Graham Crackers and Bowl & Basket Chocolate Graham Crackers and lay out.
  2. Spray cookie cutter with cooking spray and place in center of graham cracker.
  3. Pour melted white frosting inside cookie cutter.
  4. Let set. Remove the cookie cutter.
  5. Squeeze red cooking icing in center of frosting.
  6. Use bent icing spatula to spread and create blood effect.

White Chocolate Pretzel Bones

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Marshmallows
  • Bowl & Basket White Confectionary Baking Chips
  • Large Pretzel Rods
  • Cooling Rack
  • Baking Sheet
  • Microwave
  • Fork

Directions:

  1. Break large pretzel rods in half.
  2. Take 2 Bowl & Basket Marshmallows and place on to each end of pretzel rod to create bones. Place on cooling rack over baking sheet.
  3. Melt Bowl & Basket White Confectionary Baking Chips in microwave in 30 second intervals until able to stir with fork into a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour over white confectionary baking chips over bones.
  5. Let set and then turn over and repeat pour. Let set again.

Batty Bites

Ingredients:

  • Wholesome Pantry Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
  • Fun Size Snickers
  • Candy Eyes
  • Knife

Directions:

  1. Cut Wholesome Pantry Chocolate Sandwich Cookies in half with knife.
  2. Twist off top half of cookie.
  3. Place two pieces of chocolate sandwich cookies on top of snickers at an angle. Cream from the cookie will help to hold in place.
  4. Use cream from sandwich cookie on back of candy eyes.
  5. Place candy eyes on top of cookies to make batty bites.

Shrunken Head Apple Cider

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Apple Cider – 1 gallon
  • Gala Red Apples
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • ¼ Teaspoon Measuring Spoon
  • Knife
  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Cauldron
  • Ladle

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Peel gala red apple.
  3. Use ¼ teaspoon measuring spoon to carve out eyes and mouth.
  4. Use knife to carve out nose.
  5. Create several different faces.
  6. Cut apples in half and place on baking sheet.
  7. Place in oven at 250 degrees for 4 hours.
  8. Let cool.
  9. Place apple faces in cauldron and fill with Blow & Basket Apple Cider.
  10. Serve with cinnamon sticks.

Yarn Pumpkin

Ingredients:

  • Fun Size Snickers
  • Fun Size M&Ms
  • Orange Yarn
  • Green Yarn
  • Balloon
  • White Washable Glue
  • Water
  • Pencil
  • Knife/Pin

Directions:

  1. Squeeze white glue into water and stir.
  2. Place orange yarn inside glue mixture and squeeze off excess.
  3. Wrap yarn several times around a small balloon.
  4. Let dry completely.
  5. Pop balloon with a knife/pin.
  6. Place Fun Size Snickers and Fun Size M&Ms inside orange yarn.
  7. Wrap green yarn around a pencil. Squish down and twist on to top of orange yarn.

Eyeball Cakepops

Ingredients:

  • Bowl & Basket Butterscotch Flavored Baking Chips
  • Bowl & Basket Peanut Butter Flavored Baking Chips
  • Bowl & Basket Milk Chocolate Baking Chips
  • Fun Size M&Ms (only brown color)
  • White Chocolate
  • Blue Candy Melts
  • Green Candy Melts
  • Caramel Candy Melts
  • Red Gel Icing
  • Cupcakes with frosting
  • Plastic Bag
  • Meatball Scoop
  • Syringe
  • Fork
  • 4 Bowls
  • Plastic Forks

Directions:

  1. Place cupcakes into plastic bag.
  2. Mix until frosting is evenly blended with cupcakes.
  3. Use meatball scoop to scoop out cake pop mixture.
  4. Wipe off excess from outside of scoop. Then place to the side.
  5. Pour Bowl & Basket Butterscotch Flavored Baking Chips, Bowl & Basket Peanut Butter Flavored Baking Chips, Bowl & Basket Milk Chocolate Baking Chips into 3 separate bowls.
  6. Melt each bowl inside microwave in 30 second intervals and stir with fork until smooth.
  7. Get some of the melted chips in the syringe.
  8. Syringe melted chips into the hole of the meatball scoop.
  9. Place a plastic fork between the opening of the meatball scoop.
  10. Take the cakeball pop and dip inside bowl of melted white chocolate.
  11. Swirl around to completely cover.
  12. Place either a blue, green, or caramel candy melt of choice onto the cakeball pop. Use candy melts to help color code eyeball pops (e.g. caramel=peanut butter chips, green=butterscotch chips, blue=milk chocolate chips).
  13. Add a little melted chocolate on back of brown M&Ms and place in center of candy melt.
  14. Drizzle red gel icing on top cakeball pop to look like a bloody eyeball.
  15. Let white chocolate set and then they are ready to serve!
  16. Optional tip: freeze cakepop mix for easier dipping
