When you get married, all of the pain and heartache from past relationships just vanishes into thin air, right? Well, not really. Your past is your past, regardless of your present. And your past is your past regardless of whether or not literally the entire world could tune into your wedding. That might explain why Prince Harry got a bit nervous after spontaneously running into an ex-girlfriend, proving that even a prince can have some dating regrets.

!!"

Prior to making it official with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry dated around. One of his most notable exes was Chelsy Davy, who he dated on and off from 2004 to 2011. The relationship was so special that Prince Harry reportedly called her for a tear-filled goodbye right before the royal wedding. Davy was also on the guest list. However, he might not have made similar amends with another ex, actress Jenna Coleman. The two were together in 2015 before he got serious with Markle.

Markle was actually with her husband when the two ran into Coleman. Even odder, it was during a secret trip to Amsterdam. Small world, right?

According to InStyle, Harry spotted Jenna across the room and couldn’t help but get a little nervous, especially since the two were in a situation where they couldn’t help but cross paths.

The tension was so great that others reportedly felt it. But Coleman didn’t start a scene. Instead, she looked down as Prince Harry failed to even acknowledge her presence.

Known for her role in Dr. Who, Coleman was seen getting flirty with Prince Harry at a gathering a few years back. But, romance didn’t blossom in the way that fans had hoped. We may never know what went down between the two, but the lack of recognition is telling.

Markle reportedly smiled brightly throughout the entire occasion, regardless of any tension.

Coleman may have missed out on the chance of gaining the title of Duchess, but she seems quite happy both professionally and in her relationship with fellow actor Tom Hughes. So things probably worked out the best for both of them.
