In case you didn’t already notice, Sunday was a very special day for the royal family (and thus for the rest of us as well). It was Prince George’s fifth birthday, and it’s hard not to feel proud of how adorably sweet this future king seems to be, even if we don’t know him personally. To celebrate his birthday, Kensington Palace released the cutest photo of him on social media, and literally everyone is talking about how much Prince George looks like his dad, Prince William.
In an Instagram and Twitter post, the official Kensington Palace account wrote, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday — thank you everyone for your lovely messages.” The photo is of Prince George giving a huge grin to the camera in his signature tiny button-up shirt and shorts, and honestly, it’s so adorable that it feels like a birthday present for all of us.
It’s also impossible to ignore how much Prince George looks like Prince William in the photo. Of course, that isn’t surprising, since Prince William is his father, but still — it’s definitely worth pointing out, which is exactly what the entire internet has been doing all day.
Although you can see how Kate Middleton is Prince George’s mother, his little face definitely resembles William a lot more. This is especially obvious when you look at photos of William as a baby.

They could practically be twins! Again, this isn’t shocking, but it’s always fun to see babies that resemble their parents so strongly. Take a look at the new photo: That smile! Those happy eyes! That cute collared shirt we want in our size!
