One of the most important decisions of parenthood isn’t the music you listen to while laboring or the amount of organic food you ate while your baby was developing. It’s naming the baby afterward. You’re responsible for figuring out how your daughter or son will introduce themselves to others for, at the very least, 18 years. While names trend, some people like to choose something a bit more unique. And let’s just say, this woman’s choice is definitely a mouthful.

!!"

There’s a reason why many pregnant women keep their name choice a secret. Everyone has an opinion, and sometimes it’s hard to hide a poor first reaction. But it seems like this woman was loud and proud over the name choice for her son —  Squire Sebastian Senator.

It might not seem all that terrible until you realize that that’s just his first name. And, she made it painfully clear in a Facebook message that he won’t go by any shortened titles.

So, one thing’s for sure. Squire Sebastian Senator isn’t going to find any novelty merchandise with his name on it. It simply wouldn’t fit on a license plate. This, apparently, isn’t reason enough for his mom to change her mind. Instead of rethinking her choice, she’s canceling her baby shower due to too much gossip. “How can you judge an unborn child?? What is wrong with you??” her message stated.

“His name is Squire Sebastian Senator,” she wrote. “That is that. You cannot force me to change his name. This is that name I was meant to give him. No, that is not his full name.”

As you may expect, Twitter had a lot of thoughts:

It’s a shame that the baby shower was cancelled — since every new arrival deserves a celebration. But still, the mom-to-be should have realized that a name like Squire Sebastian Senator wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Why not just shorten it to Sebastian?
