Summer may have officially begun a few days ago, but you know what? It’s never too early to start looking forward to Halloween. It is, of course, one of the best holidays of the year and deserves all of your anticipation. Getting in on the creepy Halloween action includes planning for haunted houses, spooky ghost tours, and fun Halloween-themed trips. And this year, you can add another exciting event to the list: Disney just announced a new haunted cruise for anyone with a serious Halloween obsession, and it honestly sounds amazing.
Each Disney ship will get a Halloween makeover that will offer all sorts of amazing activities. Guests can choose which ship they’d like to go on:
The Disney Dream: sails three- and four-night Bahamian cruises running from September 3rd to October 29th
The Disney Fantasy: sails seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises running from September 1st to October 27th
The Disney Wonder: sails two-, four- and five-night Baja cruises, a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise, and a fourteen-night Panama Canal cruise running from September 14th to October 19th
The Disney Magic: sails four- and seven-night Canada cruises, and five- and six-night Bermuda cruises running from September 20th to October 29th
So what can you expect on the ship? According to Disney’s blog, “This one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration features spooky parties, lively entertainment, and elaborate decor, including the Pumpkin Tree, which magically transforms throughout the cruise.”

There’s going to be something called Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party, which will be filled with Disney characters in special Halloween costumes, as well as games and dancing (and of course, candy). There is an event called Haunted Stories of the Sea, where guests can gather under the stars to hear spooky ghost stories. For those who want something that’s too scary for kids, there’s “Halloween Isn’t Just For Kids,” which is when the nighttime entertainment district becomes the setting for a costume contest and a “Villainous Takeover” on the dance floor.
The blog post says something about chocolate cake with pumpkin filling (which sounds incredible), spider cakes (which sound terrifying), and “Spooky Juice” (which sounds intriguing). Oh, and for those who can’t get through the holiday without watching A Nightmare Before Christmas, there will be an interactive movie experience where guests are part of the action, with a meet-and-greet with Jack Skellington and Sally.
This almost sounds like too much excitement to handle! Even though Disney might be focused on kids, they definitely know how to celebrate Halloween — and we’re sure that their haunted cruise ships will be spook-tacular.
If you want to book a haunted adventure across the ocean, you can visit disneycruise.com or call Disney Cruise Line at 888-325-2500. It’s definitely a unique way to celebrate Halloween!
