Studious Rooms To Give You Back to School Vibes

Kids get fresh pencils and notebooks, but how can you embrace the fall spirit? By ogling these homes that feel worthy of further study—both for honor roll students and full-grown adults.

The ideal space for a tween girl to pretend to do her homework but really just text her friends.

A much more attractive “working from home” option than any of us are ever used to. Where do they even watch Netflix in this setup?

The perfect place for children to study a diet of well-appointed built-in bookcases and Mid-Century classic designs.

Give your kids a treehouse—but the kind of treehouse you feel like could set them up for success in their future life instead of just making them neighborhood hellians.

How you prep them for prep school: blue and white stripes and a fully patriotic palette. Behold, the corner of a future president (or at least president of the debate team’s) desk.

Cramming for a test suddenly seems less dire when you are enveloped in a cool palette with a pop of mellow yellow to guide you.

It’s important to get a balanced education: here you can take in all the important subjects—math, the culinary arts, Hermès.

This is what studying at a rad beach house looks like. Summer school suddenly seems infinitely more appealing.

Vintage book store vibes translated into an ideal place to read in the late afternoon. They get extra credit for the fabric covered column that blends into the couch yet looks ever-so-effortless.

College has really changed since you were there—just kidding, this dorm is a fantasy, just like the fantasy you have where you weren’t a little nerdy in college.

That feeling when everyone thinks you are a really good student until they look more closely at your cabinets and realize that you are actually just a groovy rebel who owns a whole lot of records.

I imagine this is where a delightfully eccentric grandmother took all of her lessons back in the day.

A pretty great place for the kids to do their homework, and a pretty great place for you to supervise (if you notice what’s stashed in the upper left-hand corner).

The best part of looking and incredible offices like this is imagining what field the owner is actually in. Like what if this person was invented a beauty product that made horses extra glossy (hence the lacquer and the sculpture choice). Honestly, that product already exists and it’s called Mane and Tail and we all used it to wash our hair in junior high.

Can you “handle” how adorable these DIY animal handles are? I can’t. I really cannot.
