Neutral Rooms That Are Anything But Boring

California Cool is the trend of the moment. But all that white can occasionally look a little wan. Get inspired to achieve that effortlessly chic vibe with rooms that balance minimal colors to maximum effect.

When your room is so chic that even the wrinkled sheets look intentional and cool. Too bad no one will ever see it because you’ll always be snoozing.

To be fair, dramatic curtains are pretty much never classified as boring, but how can you not adore the incredibly sumptuous and classical vibe of this technically neutral loft.

So elegantly eclectic that you actually think the color outside is a perfectly curated painting until you realize it’s lush greenery. Maybe you should spend more time outside.

When DesignLoveFest posts about having martinis and a movie night, we always have to stop ourselves from picking up the keys and immediately driving over.

High glamour meets a low level palette.

Sometimes finding the perfect bedroom design is a matter of black and white.

Ok kitchens, you can all cool it. We’ve found the best one. Thanks for coming in. We’ll keep you in mind for other projects, promise.

We’ve never seriously thought about hanging out in a bathroom for long periods of time, but there is truly a first for everything in this crazy, mixed up world we live in.

Layered rugs are the ultimate varsity design move. If you’re bold enough to put another rug on top at an angle, your gusto just can’t be stopped.

Classic: the like the sort of a room a refined Disney princess who now lives on the Upper East Side would have.

We’re seeing this room through rose gold colored glasses—and we like it. If you keep the palette limited distressed fabrics look delightful instead of dingy.

When your books are the loudest thing about your space, you’re doing something right. Who knew so many classic tomes had red covers?

This room gives us everything in its perfect place vibes. Perfectly balanced with tons of touchable textures. Don’t mind us as we skip from spot to spot feeling everything up.

The right kind of “rustic” NYC kitchen. Simple white subway tile contrasts and what could be considered less-than-desirably hued appliances pop against unfinished wood.

Take a dip into the bedroom of your dreams. Just add a touch of pink.

The French are good at everything, so of course a Parisian palette is perfection.
