You read that right my witches. Hocus Pocus, the 1993 horror-comedy movie that has people rolling with laughter and nostalgia every Halloween, is making a comeback. But it’s not what you’re thinking. The movie is being reimagined with a new cast and a new director.
The original, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters, was such a hit that Disney wants to reincarnate it. FINALLY. After years of speculation and the witches saying they were onboard, Disney went in another direction.
Hocus Pocus takes place in Salem (where else?) where we follow Max and his little sister Dani as they move to a new place. Max finds an abandoned house with his sister and their new friend Allison, a local. Allison explains the scary truth about the Sanderson sisters, but Max is skeptical. He lights a candle (must be lit by a virgin) and the sisters come back to life.
Where will Disney be taking this new movie? What are your thoughts?
This #HocusPocus remake news is bringing up painful memories of when they recast Marnie in the Halloweentown sequels. #NotMyMarnie pic.twitter.com/nL29ClJwB1
