Just FYI, This Is The Most Instagrammed Sneaker — Ever

There’s an art to taking the perfect pic of your sneakers for Instagram. Whether you’re photographing your kicks while they’re still in the box or trying to find the perfect angle of them on your feet, you know your sneaker ‘Gram is going to get tons of likes — especially if you hashtag the name of the shoe style. But even if you’ve never actually posted a sneaker pic yourself, you’ve almost definitely seen them in your Instagram feed and on your explore page. And chances are pretty high that you’ve seen the Adidas NMD. According to research conducted by forward2me, the Adidas shoe is the world’s most Instagrammed sneaker.

forward2me checked the hashtags of the world’s most popular shoes and counted how many posts there were for each. The Adidas NMD was the overwhelming winner with 5,709,871 posts using the hashtags #adidasnmd and/or #nmd. To be honest, we’re a little surprised that Adidas NMD took the top spot. The shoes are definitely stylish, but they’re still everyday sneakers. We expected a super rare or unique shoe to come out on top. Then again, the Adidas NMD sneakers do come in a variety of styles and colors for both men and women; there are 51 Adidas NMD styles available on Adidas.com right now. It makes sense that a more widely-available sneaker would be Instagrammed more often.

It’s easy to see why these shoes are all over Instagram. They’re just so cool.

In addition to taking first place, Adidas also appeared in the top 10 quite a few times.

The company completely dominated the list of the most Instagrammed sneakers, snagging six of the top 10 spots. After the Adidas NMD comes the Adidas Yeezy 350 (4,198,238 posts), Vans Old Skool (3,594,318 posts), Adidas Superstar (3,433,316 posts), Converse Chuck Taylors (2,175,091 posts), Adidas Originals: Stan Smith (1,658,308 posts), Nike Air Max 90 (1,453,006 posts), Nike Air Huarache (1,261,624 posts), Adidas Neo (1,163,173 posts), and Adidas Ultra Boost (959,354 posts).
