Social media star Shane Dawson is changing the landscape of YouTube with his überpopular several-part documentary series. Over the past few months, Dawson has investigated the trials and tribulations of fellow famous YouTubers like Jeffree Star, Bunny Meyer (Grav3yardgirl), and Tana Mongeau. For his next installment, Dawson dives into the mind of Jake Paul, and explores if Paul’s haters are onto something when they claim that Jake Paul is a sociopath.
Dawson’s previous series were also investigatory but, for the most part, he used them to humanize his subjects. So, when Dawson put feelers out on Twitter that Paul may be at the center of his next series, fans were unhappy. To them, Paul is not worth humanizing. He has done too many terrible things to be redeemable — he’s made xenophobic comments, has turned his L.A. neighborhood into a “war zone,” has created public controversies surrounding his past team members, and much more.
The first episode went live on September 25th, followed by the second episode, “The Dark Side of Jake Paul,” posted today, September 27th.
“[This series has] been the most intense horrifying emotionally draining experience of my career and i wouldn’t have it any other way,” Dawson tweeted on September 25th.

The main goal of this new YouTube event is to figure out if Jake Paul is truly a sociopathic person. A sociopath is someone who has no regard for other people and uses aggressive tactics to dominate others simply because they want to feel powerful. Sociopaths are extremely energetic, lack any kind of conscious, and will literally do anything to get what they want — all of which are signs Paul has exhibited throughout his repertoire of YouTube videos.
Paul, who has been accused of traumatizing friends and former members of his business and content-creating group Team 10, was fully involved and aware that Dawson was going to approach this investigation without bias and listen to all of Paul’s accusers.

Later in his series, Dawson reportedly talks to a psychologist about Paul’s behavior and documents her thoughts on Paul’s possible sociopathy. In the first episode, though, Dawson begins his research and talks to fellow YouTube creator, iNabber, who specializes in covering YouTuber controversies.

We’re looking forward to seeing where Dawson takes this and if he confirms what many already think is true about Paul and his mental state. Keep your eyes glued to your computer screens to grab the upcoming episodes while they’re hot.
