These Celeb Mothers Have Fought Online Mommy Shamers For The Silliest Reasons

The internet can be a cruel, dark place. Case in point? Celebrity mom-shaming, all the damn time.

Instagram denizens shamed Simpson for “ruining” her daughter’s hair and making her “grow up too fast.” The best part? Simpson’s daughter wanted purple hair to be like Dove Cameron’s character Mal in Descendants. Yes, Simpson caught flack for her daughter wanting to look like a Disney character.

Come on, there’s no harm in letting your little girl play with some funky shades or streaks.

But that’s not what Pink thinks. In fact, the Grammy-winning artist doesn’t think there is anything wrong with indulging your child’s creative side. In an act of mom solidarity, Pink posted a now-rare photo of her daughter—and we couldn’t be more impressed.

“I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored,” the singer captioned an August 1st post.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/B0kAmYTAVmP/”]

“So we thought we’d share what we did yesterday,” she continued the caption.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/B0pOBsAg3u-/”]

In the photo, Pink’s eight-year-old daughter Willow is in the process of having her hair dyed blue.

Um, could we stan any harder?

This isn’t the first time Pink’s dealt with the parenting police, either.

On July 11, she posted a photo of her daughter running through a sprinkler with some choice words for people who feel compelled to give unsolicited parenting advice on the internet.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BzrIAzLAp_W/”]

“Here’s a picture of my child running through water. It wasn’t even filtered. What a waste of water. And no helmet? I hope she had sunscreen. If she slips and falls she may be traumatized for life. And her mother wasn’t even there. I was….. gasp…. working!!!! In another country!” Pink captioned the image.

We can feel the shade from here.

Why people feel the need to critique celeb’s parenting techniques is beyond us.

Clearly both Pink and Simpson’s daughters are having a good time with their pastel locks. And real talk, it’s 2019 — vibrantly colored hair isn’t taboo anymore.

And Pink usually doesn’t share photos of her kids anymore.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BvqsPX5hZoN/”]

Back in April 2019, Pink explained to Ellen DeGeneres that all of the mommy-shaming and parenting critiques had her second-guessing how often — if ever — she should post photos of her two children to her Instagram account.

“I like to share my family. It’s my proudest moment in my whole life. I’m prouder of my kids than anything I’ve ever done. I won’t share them anymore. I won’t do it. I’m not posting pictures of them anymore,” she told Ellen.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BvrhONxhEni/”]

The reasons she’s been grilled in the past is laughable.

At the end of March, some commenters insisted that “child services be called” because she posted a photo of her two-year-old son Jameson sans bottoms. He had taken off his diaper and swim trunks in a silly act of toddler defiance, but some people felt otherwise.

On July 14, she caught a lot of heat after posting a photo of her daughter and son running through the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.

She had the best response then, too.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz5lC96gVed/”]

When people began mommy-shaming her for allowing her children to run in such a somber place, she clapped back. “And for all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers family. The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves.”

Someone give her a mic to drop.

While Simpson still hasn’t responded to the whole hair dye controversy, we’re glad Pink felt comfortable enough to call out the haters and support a fellow mother.

Celeb moms aren’t safe from any critics. Whether it’s returning to work, naked babies, or letting their daughters experiment with hair and makeup, celeb mamas get mom-shamed hard.

While it was shocking to see Pink and Jessica Simpson receive such backlash, it wasn’t hard to find more examples of famous moms dealing with judgmental comments and trolls on social media.

Honestly, mom-shamers have been coming for the Kardashians for years.

Remember when Kim Kardashian let her five-year-old old daughter, North West, wear red lipstick on their Christmas card?

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Br5r9PlB43c/”]

Or when she let her wear orange eyeliner?

Don’t worry Kim anticipated the backlash this time writing, “Relax Mom Shamers it’s coming off in a few mins. I needed a bribe to get out of the door…You feel me?!?!?!”

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqqyp2WHvHl/ “]

Oh God, or how Kim had to explain her daughter’s straight hair.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BlnjpxqljdT/ “]

An Instagram user wrote: “I can feel the heat damage from here! Leave your [kid’s] hair alone let her have the choice to damage it when she’s older,” and another said, “That poor baby’s curl pattern is gonna be all jacked up from the heat damage she’s putting on her hair at a young age.”

Kim explained the decision by stating that’s simply what her daughter wanted.

“She wanted straight hair and I straightened her hair one time. It’s funny, because online everyone thought that we pressed it and did this whole thing. It was just a flat iron. I even read that she had extensions on! She has curly hair, so when you straighten her hair, it’s gonna look really long. I can’t believe people didn’t get that. Sometimes you just have to tune it out! It was her birthday and all she wanted was to try to have her hair straightened,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

…While we’re definitely team Kim, her decision to have North take pictures of her putting on a bra seemed a little bit questionable.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Be8V9RCFmMy/”]

Honestly, we were most proud of Kim for shaming mom shamers with this brutally honest post following her infamous naked selfie, which led commenters to write she was setting a bad example for her daughter.

Her response was epic.

“Hey, guys. I wanted to write a post elaborating on my tweets last night. In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives. I don’t do drugs, I hardly drink, I’ve never committed a crime—and yet I’m a bad role model for being proud of my body? It always seems to come back around to my sex tape,” she began.

“Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally that lonnng ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?! I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn’t have to constantly be on the defense, listing off my accomplishments just to prove that I am more than something that happened 13 years ago. Let’s move on, already. I have. I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world,” the mother of four wrote on her website.

She even gave props to her husband for empowering her and loving her unconditionally, before praising the women she grew up with.

“I feel so lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong, driven, independent women. The life lessons I’ve learned from my sisters, my mother and my grandmother, I will pass along to my daughter. I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to be comfortable in her body. I don’t want her to grow up in a world where she is made to feel less-than for embracing everything it means to be a woman. It’s 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming—it’s like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me. I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.”

Yes, Kim, yes.

Even beloved members of the country music community can’t escape unsolicited advice.

Carrie Underwood came under fire for *gasp* wearing makeup to her child’s soccer game.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BpKT5iMFQnt/”]

The comment section lit up with comments like, “Well that is a crap ton of makeup for a soccer game,” and “Show up like most soccer moms, messy hair don’t care, no makeup and a coffee mug in hand.”

Wow, the hate is kind of unreal. How about these moms just show up and mind their own business?

Not that Carrie needs to explain herself, but since she’s a public figure, she might be anticipating somebody taking her picture, or just wants to look nice for herself.

One of the weirdest parenting critiques we’ve encountered? Victoria Beckham being slammed for posting a photo with her son, who has a few tattoos.

Like look at the ~horrifying~ photo.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BlpNQkjFW7j/ “]

One commenter, who is only happy making others unhappy, asked, “Did you approve all those tattoos?” Another said, “As a mother, I would have NEVER posted a picture like this.”

Come on, her son isn’t even a kid anymore. He’s 19 and can legally decide if and how much he wants to ink his skin.

TBH, these trolls need to find other ways to spice up their lives.

Even Queen Bey couldn’t avoid this kind of crazy criticism.

Her offense? Drinking a glass of wine AFTER giving birth.

A full debate speculating if she could really be feeding her twins formula and not breast milk.

SAYING THIS LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, living a public life doesn’t mean you have to broadcast your most personal decisions. Whether Beyoncé chooses to breastfeed, or not, is up to her. It should not be a casual topic of conversation for you and your friends.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BXYjDlsAtZx/ “]

We’re still mad Kylie Jenner was accused of being a negligent parent for attending Coachella, oh, and having long nails.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BhiA2q_AS_L/”]

When Kylie went to the music festival, people said mean things like, “Leaving your two-month old baby just to party…u prioritized partying over your baby.”

Sometimes you just can’t win.

Another celeb mother that just can’t seem to avoid nasty trolls? Chrissy Teigen.

The model has…get comfortable, the list is long… apparently held her baby girl wrong, posted a picture breastfeeding, not breastfed long enough, and gone out to dinner too soon after giving birth.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk8CprqHOBt/”]

We know she’s a fantastic mom, so these comments are so unnecessary.

While we could round up even more ridiculous times celebs were mom-shamed for dumb reasons, nothing can top Olivia Wilde getting shamed for kissing her son on the lips.

Delusional haters commented insane things like, she was “kissing her son like she kisses her husband” and something about “lip aids.”

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BZzSYo2HmHI/”]

He’s only four. People need to freaking calm down.

Notice anything about these trolls?

None of them ever criticize the dads.

So next time, you think about writing a nasty comment, just don’t.

Have you noticed celeb moms being shamed online? Let us know what you think about it.
