Instagram Seems To Be Testing Out A New “Questions” Feature, And We Have Our Own…Questions

When Instagram Stories emerged, a lot of social media fans dropped Snapchat altogether in favor of Instagram’s upgraded format. Snapchat will always be important for the filters (since everything is better with dog ears), but Instagram is very quick to give users what we want to enhance our stories. And it turns out, what we want is…Questions! Let us explain.

It’s been rumored that Instagram is testing out a feature that’ll let you ask your followers questions. This could be good for a lot of things — from figuring out where to grab dinner, to solving a lighthearted debate with a significant other. Based on screencaps, it looks like it won’t be a poll (which is already available) and is more of an empty field where viewers can input their thoughts. Without a doubt, this feature will make Instagram Stories even more interactive. Seriously — I figured having GIFs in my story was cool, but this raises the stakes.

If it seems like Instagram has been making a bunch of upgrades recently, you’re not wrong.

Avid users might have noticed a new video-sharing service within their app called IGTV, which gives influencers another avenue to connect with fans. They’ve also unrolled a feature which brings back chronological order, in a way, by showcasing photos that were uploaded in the last 48 hours. That means you’ll no longer miss crucial posts.

But, back to Questions. Its development is a theory as of now, since Instagram has yet to officially announce it. But on June 26th, social and digital media consultant Matt Navarra tweeted out this image, crediting WABetaInfo:

As you can see, there’s an icon for Questions on the second row. You probably won’t be able to see this on your own account just yet.

Speaking of questions, a lot of people had — well — questions.

While Instagram users can just send a message through the app, it looks like this may serve as a fun way to complete that same purpose. No matter what, this new function is bound to add even more life to our Instagram Stories.
