Instagram’s New “You’re All Caught Up” Feature Will Make Sure You Never Feel Left Out Again

Is there anything worse than seeing a like-worthy photo on Instagram that’s already four days old? Even though all of us are familiar with the new algorithm, it still makes you feel like you’re stalking someone’s feed. But luckily, there’s a new feature from Instagram that will not only fix this, but will make you feel like you’re on top of breaking news. (Er, breaking photos at least.)

On July 2nd, the company announced that they’ll be rolling out the “You’re All Caught Up” feature, which tells you when you’ve seen all the posts that have been added in the last 48 hours. The notification comes in the form of a message on your feed. All posts after that message have been on Instagram longer than that, and have probably been viewed by you. That means you’re more likely to get the freshest posts, so you can actually comment on your BFF’s new manicure hours — not days — after she got it.

The feature is available on iOS and Android, and those who don’t have it already should be getting it very soon. Typically, apps like Instagram roll out features like this so that everyone gets them, but not always at the same exact time.

If it’s been awhile, check your app updates and see if it’s something you need to download manually.

“We’ve heard that it can be difficult to keep track of your seen posts. With this message, you’ll have a better understanding of your Feed and know you haven’t missed recent photos or videos,” Instagram wrote on their blog.

Fans of the social media app are overjoyed. Finally, their feeds have some order again.

This update is only one of many that Instagram has announced. You might have noticed a new video feature called IGTV, which allows brands and influencers a new way to connect with their audience. There’s also been a rumor that Instagram Stories is about to become even more interactive in the near future.

Instagram has always tried hard to stay fresh as they add options users could really benefit from, so these cool upgrades are much-appreciated.
