Are Britney Spears And Sam Asghari Engaged? The Internet Thinks Maybe
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari made a surprise appearance at the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Los Angeles premiere on July 22, 2019. Spears dazzled in a simple red dress and sparkling diamond accessories — including a diamond ring on her left-hand ring finger. The statement piece sparked rumors of a potential engagement between Spears and Asghari, who have been dating since 2016. Although neither have confirmed an engagement, fans are pretty certain it’s a thing.
The ring in question is a beautiful three-diamond number set on a silver band. It definitely screams “engagement ring,” but, noting her other diamond accessories — a diamond choker and matching diamond stud earrings — the ring could be a piece of flashy costume jewelry.
This event was the couple’s first red carpet outing since entering into their relationship about three years ago. And it was the first in about a year for Spears alone. Spears shared a couple photos of herself and Asghari dressed up and ready to go via Instagram.
“Our first premiere,” Britney Spears captioned the post. Asghari commented, “My beautiful date.” If only he had slipped and said, “My beautiful fiancé” instead.
This isn’t the first time engagement rumors have circled Spears and Asghari.
In 2018, tabloids spotted a simple gold band on Spears’ finger and theorized that the two may have gotten secretly hitched or engaged.
But fans were quick to point out that Spears often wears decorative rings.
So, could this new diamond piece be yet another accessory?

If so, she must have known rumors were going to start after wearing it on *that* finger.
It’s much too engagement-y to pass for a regular decorative ring.
On July 21, Spears posted a series of photos to Instagram, and she isn’t wearing the ring in any of them.
That leads us to believe that the ring may just be part of her overall red carpet look and nothing more.
That is, unless she and Asghari were engaged hours after the photos were taken.
Or perhaps hours before the red carpet premiere.
As of publication, a source close to Spears and Asghari confirmed to People.com that the pair is not engaged. But, we’ll wait until we hear from Spears herself before we make any conclusions.

We’re so glad the couple finally made a red carpet appearance together.
Their relationship is all over social media, but it’s always fun to see our favorite couples out and about in Hollywood.
And after taking a hiatus from her music career to focus on her father’s health, and spending time in a mental health facility in April, it’s really great to see Spears looking happy and healthy. We’re always here for a Britney Spears moment.

Spears and Asghari most likely attended the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood due to Spears’s love for Brad Pitt, who stars in the film. She told Australia’s Today Show back in 2016, “My first celebrity crush was Brad Pitt. He’s single now!”
She even told Diane Sawyer back in 2003 that she had a framed photo of herself with Pitt on her nightstand.
“We shouldn’t share that. I’m embarrassed,” she said at the time, per Us Weekly. “That’s my little thing!”
Of course she did. She LOVES Brad Pitt.

If Asghari wasn’t in the picture… we won’t lie. We’d ship it.
Although the two are seemingly not engaged, we still swoon over their romance. She and Asghari are both big fitness junkies, and according to many sources, Asghari has been incredibly supportive of Spears during her tumultuous past few months.
