Whether you read your horoscope just for fun or live your life according to the cosmic transits, astrology has a way of captivating even the most rigid of non-believers. Of course, whether you know for a fact that you are a textbook [insert your sign here] or you doubt astrology altogether, the archetypes of the zodiac signs — and the wisdom they reveal — can teach us a lesson about the human condition. Case in point: the royal family’s zodiac signs.

!!"

It’s way too fun looking at our favorite royals through the lens of astrology. Why are they so elegant? Why do they love the limelight? Why are they so darn sensitive? When we see people on TV all the time, we start to understand their public persona and fall in love with their quirks — and maybe even their flaws. Well friends, the stars are here to tell you about our regal friends across the pond — and the royal family’s zodiac signs give us some pretty intense insight to the monarchy.

With royal obsession growing every single day, thanks to the much needed modernizing of the monarchy, it’s fun to see how the royal family’s zodiac signs play out in their public personas. We’ve woken up in the middle of the night to watch their weddings, tried to mimic all of their classic outfits, and now, with the royal family’s zodiac signs, we can learn more about our favorite dukes, duchesses, princes, and queens.

Of course, each of the royal family’s zodiac signs (also known as their sun sign) can’t determine everything about who they are! There’s more to a birth chart than your sun sign — not to mention your life experience, life circumstances, and environment. So, for the sake of simplicity, we’ll only be looking at the royal family’s various sun signs, which are generally thought of as a person’s core identity (and what most associate with the zodiac), dominating the personality in an overarching sense.

The Queen And The Duke of Edinburgh, Elizabeth II And Prince Philip

The Queen, Elizabeth II, was born April 21, 1926, while Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was June 10, 1921.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1125968644066259/”]

The Queen is a Taurus (on the cusp of Aries), while Prince Phillip is a Gemini (and oh, boy, is he).

It’s important to note that because of royal tradition, the Queen also celebrates her birthday in June at an event called Trooping the Colour. That’s not her birthday, though!

Tauruses are attracted to beauty, the finer things in life, and tradition, as the Bull doesn’t do well in chaos.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BytMl_hj9j9/”]

Taurus is an Earth sign, so they are grounded, reliable and practical, which we very much see this in the Queen’s behavior. Just look at the fact that she’s the longest-reigning sovereign! That’s stability at its finest.

According to Royal.uk, she literally does just that: “The Sovereign acts as a focus for national identity, unity, and pride; gives a sense of stability and continuity.” What could be more Taurus than that?

When she took the throne, she did her best not to rock the boat too much — to learn, to promote the values of the monarchy, and to embody elegance and grace.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/217228382012387258/”]

As a Bull, the Taurus is devoted — almost stubbornly so — to their beliefs and their work. And the Queen is nothing if not devoted.

Now, Prince Phillip is a Gemini. These folks are endlessly curious, hilarious, and sometimes totally unpredictable — and that’s what makes them so attractive.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/ByJbgm8D5yd/”]

Geminis are the adaptable and talkative zodiac sign, and quite often they can be very charming. But they can be — as the Gemini Twins indicate — two-faced. That same adaptability can also make them incredibly elusive. An Air sign, Gemini can seem to flit away, unable to be truly understood. In a way, that’s what we see in Price Phillip.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/92886811051389532/”]

Prince Phillip wasn’t always poised and graceful; in fact, we know he’s wild, witty, sometimes controversial, and doesn’t fall in line easily.

In one moment he seems like a perfect royal, and in the next moment he’s mouthing off a dirty joke.

The differences — and there are many — in Taurus and Gemini can excite one another…

…Perhaps this is a reason the two have been together for 70 years! So far, the royal family’s zodiac signs seem to align.

They don’t currently live under the same roof though — perhaps a move that enables them to give one another the space they need, especially in an era of constant cameras?

The Prince of Wales And Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles And Camilla Parker Bowles

Prince Charles was born November 14, 1948, making him a Scorpio, while Camilla is a Cancer.

Now, Scorpio takes a lot of flak — usually for being hyper-sexual, secretive, and dark. Of course, there’s more to this oft-misunderstood zodiac sign than all of that. They are also intense, magnetic, and protective of their loved ones.

Many see Prince Charles as stoic and secretive, as he usually keeps his emotions far from his sleeve.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/294211788154278282/”]

Of course, we can’t think of Prince Charles without remembering Princess Diana, who was a Cancer. Cancers are seen as nurturers, creators of the home, and kind, empathic beings.

While we saw Diana’s open and generous persona (she was “the people’s princess,” after all), we see his mysterious, quiet, almost-stoic reserve of emotion.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/514747432407802777/”]

Cancers are also moody, and they can have a stinger. This is something we saw in Diana. She wore her heart on her sleeve and wasn’t very good at hiding her emotions — especially about the royal family.

Today, Philip is with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, with whom he’d had a relationship even prior to marrying Princess Diana. Of course, many believed there was cheating occurring at this time — yet another potentially very Scorpio move.

Interestingly, Camila is a Cancer, just as Diana was — and she too seems emotionally open, friendly, and is known to be a homebody.

Cancer and Scorpio are both Water signs, meaning they are generally emotional, imaginative, and magnetic. These royal family’s zodiac signs pair very well together, as they are capable of holding great space for one another’s immense, and often misunderstood, depths.

The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge, Prince William And Katherine Middleton

Prince William was born June 21, 1982, making him a Cancer right on the cusp of Gemini. Without looking into his birth chart to know more, it seems that Prince William does behave more like a Cancer than a Gemini. He’s just a sweetheart, and it shows.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BwyAV7WjbIc/”]

Prince William is such a Cancer: Emotionally open, invested in family, sensitive, and nurturing…

…all things that appear obvious when he speaks of the monarchy, his wife and children, his late mother, and his efforts in mental health and philanthropy.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/674414112928678545/”]

Kate, on the other hand, was born January 9, 1982, making her a Capricorn. And a textbook one at that. Caps are the hard workers of the zodiac. They will not forget to invoice you and will not miss a beat.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/783344928913207844/”]

Kate is certainly a go-getter — always poised, always in line, always ready to show up and do a great job, no ifs, ands, or buts.

It takes work to be so seamless and polished, but Kate the Cap is always up to the task.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/364017582377748080/”]

Interestingly, their children, Prince George, Princess Charlot,te and Prince Louis, are a Cancer, a  Taurus, and another Taurus, respectively.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/53621051798854302/”]

A Capricorn and a Cancer actually work very well together, as Cancer (the nurturer and protector) and Capricorn (ambitious and consistent) balance one another out and seek the positive in one another.

The Duke And Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

It seems as if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the most intriguing people on the planet right now. It’s not far off from the truth. Could it because they’re taking the monarchy to the next level by introducing diversity, inclusivity, and youthful, modern ideas into the just-a-tad-stuffy picture? We’d say a resounding yes.

Who better to modernize the monarchy that than a larger-than-life Leo and a Virgo?

Meghan Markle was born August 4, 1981, making her a Leo, while Prince Harry was born September 15, 1984, making him a Virgo.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/576108977329712777/”]

Meghan’s Leo traits are obvious. Like, super, duper obvious. Leos, known for their drama and self-confidence, can light up a room.

They’re a Fire sign — luminous, bright, and charismatic. Whether Meghan is acting on the big screen, championing women’s rights, speaking out against humanitarian crises, or looking elegant AF in a pair of ripped jeans, she brings power and poise to the table.

If you want a leader, you want a Leo — especially a compassionate, charming one.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/167125836158707253/”]

Now, when it comes to Virgos (who are perfectionists, hypercritical observers and practical beyond belief), Prince Harry is not-so-obvious, but he’s a Virgo nonetheless. Harry’s got some bad boy ways (that we love), which could be a result of something else in his birth chart. Most likely, it’s what happens when a Virgo has to behave and be perfect all the damn time.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/342132902940295017/”]

He’s a great conversationalist, which makes sense because Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication.

He’s also incredibly reliable — a Virgo trait that becomes apparent once you know he’s been in the military for 10 years.

[fm_pinterest url=”https://www.pinterest.com/pin/435441857719655751/”]

Leo and Virgo — although different — can absolutely work out… if they lift one another up, learn from one another’s unique wisdom, and make space for growth and flexibility.

And we already see this happening with Meghan and Harry. It’s a beautiful thing seeing the royal family’s zodiac signs line up in a practically perfect manner.

Do you think Meghan is as Leo as they come — and is The Queen really a Taurus?
