When you think of a billionaire, you probably think of an older man who has created some kind of unique, extraordinary product — think someone like Bill Gates or Elon Musk. Or maybe you think of a super high-profile celebrity who has been in the business for a very long time. But this certainly does not describe every billionaire out there, and the person who is set to become the youngest billionaire just might surprise you: it’s Kylie Jenner, the baby of the Kardashian family, who is barely 20 years old.
On Wednesday, July 11th, Forbes revealed the cover of their latest issue. It features Kylie in a suit, wearing minimal makeup, arms crossed in a more serious pose than we’re used to seeing her strike. The issue named Kylie as one of America’s richest self-made women, on track to become the youngest billionaire in the world. The fact that Kylie swiftly passed her older sister Kim Kardashian West as the richest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan is impressive enough — and when you consider that she could even surpass Mark Zuckerberg as the youngest self-made billionaire ever, that’s even more shocking.

Forbes estimates Kylie’s net worth at $900 million, comparing that to Kim’s, which is approximately $350 million.
It’s Kylie’s wildly successful cosmetics company that has helped her get this much money. Forbes reports that Kylie Cosmetics has sold more than $630 million worth of makeup since its initial launch, including an estimated $330 million in 2017 alone. The magazine believes that the company is worth nearly $800 million, and Kylie is the sole owner of this company.
Obviously, that’s not the only way she makes her cash. Kylie is famous for her product endorsements on social media, especially for questionable items like Fit Tea Wraps and waist-trainers. She has a clothing line with sister Kendall Jenner, a Puma deal, and, of course, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Oh, and you can’t forget her app, her public appearances, and the money she’s made simply by being a member of the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Many social media users are unhappy with the publication’s choice because of the money Kylie was born into, and many claim that she can’t be considered a “self-made” billionaire because of this.

Still, even considering the lifestyle she was born into, it’s hard to act like Kylie’s fortune isn’t impressive. Go girl!
