When it comes to relatable celebs, Kristen Bell is on top of that list. She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s talented, and she’s proved with husband Dax Shepard that every good relationship needs work. As it turns out, she’s also taught her fans a thing or two about beauty. And as a fan myself, I’m all ears. Or should I say, hands.
It all started with a somewhat odd Instagram photo that Shepard posted of his wife. The two of them are known to banter on occasion through social media, and they aren’t scared to let their admirers in on their married life. In the post, Shepard showcased his wife enjoying the pool — there was just one weird detail that a lot of people noticed.
In the photo, Bell is wearing a pair of gloves. And not full-length ballgown gloves (which are appropriate in any situation where you want to feel a little fancy), but what look to be black gloves you’d wear to avoid the cold weather. It’s July and the couple lives in California — suffice to say, they’re not cold.
“My bride wears gloves in the pool because she hates the feeling of pruney finger tips on skin. #Hollyweird#iloveher,” Shepard wrote in the photo’s caption.

Hmm. Well, that’s a new one. But it kind of makes sense. Pruney fingers are one of the only legit reasons to leave a pool, so maybe she’s onto something. And hey, it’s also good for protecting her hands from the sun!
