In recent weeks, the #BottleCapChallenge has taken the internet by storm, and now Justin Bieber has decided to put his own spin on it — and, of course, not without a healthy dose of trash talk included. The challenge, which started with Taekwondo instructor Farabi Davletchin skillfully fly-kicking a bottle cap, has become a viral sensation with a slew of different celebrities getting involved. Stars like Mariah Carey, Ellie Goulding, and Ryan Reynolds have completed their own versions of the challenge. But Justin Bieber has taken things to a whole new level.

People Are Saying His Comment Is Evidence That He’s Trying To Reignite An Old Feud
This jab comes off the back of a comment that Justin Bieber made challenging Tom Cruise to a fight back in June 2019.
I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?
— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) June 10, 2019
Fans, critics, and pop-culture commentators were floored by the call out and wondered where it even came from.
He’s only about 32 in Scientology years though…
— Pancho (@PanchoTheBandit) June 10, 2019
Twitter blew up, with people declaring they were either Team Tom Cruise or Team Justin Bieber.
Cruise is 56. Bieber is 25. I will go with youth.

Bieber Later Retracted His Statement

Talking with TMZ, Justin Bieber admitted he was just joking around about the whole thing, and never intended to actually fight Tom Cruise.
But UFC President Dana White Stoked The Fire
[fm_giphy url=”https://media.giphy.com/media/WDtCGLCXBAgow/giphy.gif”]
According to USA Today, UFC president Dana White stated that if the fight ever were to happen, the match could be “the biggest pay-per-view in the history of pay-per-view.”
White also hinted at an upcoming celebrity match.

“I’m not going to say any names, but I’m going to tell you that I got a phone call from a couple of real guys who said that they really do want this fight and they believe Tom Cruise would do the fight,” White told TMZ. “I told them, ‘I’ll tell you this if that’s true… If that’s true, and everybody involved in this thing wants to do it, we can talk.'”
It Turns Out That Bieber Was Inspired By An Old Interview
[fm_giphy url=”https://media.giphy.com/media/7q3By1tKdxjJ6/giphy.gif”]
Bieber told TMZ he had just watched an old interview with Cruise, which inspired him to challenge Cruise on Twitter, even though it turned out to be one big joke.
In Honor Of The #BottleCapChallenge, He Also Challenged His Wife, Hailey
She quickly uploaded a video of her own. Riding a four-wheeler, Hailey casually unscrews the bottle with ease. She then went on to nominate Kendall Jenner and Justin Skye for the challenge.

Tom Cruise has yet to respond to any of Bieber’s online jabs. And the last time he posted anything onto Instagram was back in January 2019 to promote Mission Impossible 8. The film is set to be released in 2022.
