“Game of Thrones” Actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Had The Wedding Ceremony Of Your Dreams

Move over, Pete and Ariana — there’s another couple whose engagement made us swoon. And just this weekend, that couple made it official by tying the knot. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie said “I do” in front of their Game of Thrones castmates and families on June 23rd, and everything about the big event looks picture-perfect.

Harington and Leslie have one of the best love stories of all time. Playing Jon Snow (who knows nothing) and Ygritte the Wildling, the two characters fell in love — and during Season 2, the onscreen heat lead to something more after the cameras stopped rolling. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, [it] becomes very easy to fall in love,” Harington said to Vogue back in 2016, which is when they made their red carpet couple debut at the Olivier Awards. The following year, in 2017, they moved in together (and Kit played a terrifying April Fool’s Day prank on Leslie).

Unfortunately, they weren’t castmates for too long. Spoiler alert if you haven’t been watching: Ygritte dies in Season 4. But even though they no longer spent their days working together, their romance continued forward.

 

Harington and Leslie were typically quiet about their relationship, which is why the engagement was so special. They actually announced it in The Times of London newspaper, which commonly isn’t a thing for celebrities. Still, they kept things old school.

They got married at the Kirkton of Rayne church in Scotland. BBC reports that the reception was held at Wardhill Castle. A few of their co-stars — like Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams — joined in on the festivities. Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, and John Bradley-West (the latter who plays Jon Snow’s close friend Sam on the show) were also spotted heading towards the wedding.

Leslie looked absolutely perfect in a classy yet stylish white lace dress with long sleeves. Let’s just say she looked like the opposite of a Wildling.

Even though Game of Thrones will be ending soon, it’s so sweet to know that these two found a connection that will last a lifetime. Hopefully they’ll write George R.R. Martin a thank you card for that.
