People Are Freaking Out Because David Beckham Kissed His 7-Year-Old Daughter On The Lips

Families operate in many different ways — and like most things in life, people have opinions. Typically, as long as a family includes loving and supportive parents, things are okay. But that doesn’t mean that judgment won’t follow. Case in point: you’d assume the Beckham’s are pretty much the perfect family. But after dad David Beckham posted an innocent photo with his daughter, fans are criticizing.

Beckham and his wife Victoria, who you might know best as Posh Spice, have four children together — Brooklyn, Cruz, Romeo, and Harper. Harper is only 7 years old, but is already making waves online. As the youngest in the family, she’s already interested in fashion and, more or less, taking over the world. “She knows she can do everything and probably more than her brothers can,” Victoria said to Harper’s Bazaar this year. “We talk about it a lot. She wants to be an inventor and she’s very proud of that. She’s a strong smart woman – little woman.”

But these days, her dad is the one putting her in headlines. David Beckham shared an innocent photo of him and his daughter nearly kissing on the lips on Instagram. (FYI: last year, Victoria Beckham was criticized for the same thing.)

Instead of applauding it as a sweet moment, Beckham’s fans are ripping him to shreds.

Many people acknowledged it for what it is — a cute moment between the two of them. Yet, others couldn’t help but judge. While some parents give their kids a peck on the lips, it’s usually more popular to kiss on the cheek. For many, lips are reserved for kisses of a romantic nature.

But most people came to Beckham’s defense — not like he needed them to. “For somebody that hasn’t had a dad to kiss since the age of 7, I think it’s lovely and totally [heartwarming] seeing this picture,” a commenter named Niki stated in the comments. “A kiss is a sign of love, it’s a little peck saying how much you care and adore someone whether it being your daughter or not!”

Even if you weren’t fond of the photo, you should know that a peck on the lips is completely normal. It’s obvious that Beckham thinks the world of his daughter and just wanted to share their bond with everyone.
