Have you ever been mistaken for someone else? Or received something that most definitely wasn’t meant for you? Don’t worry, it’s happened to most of us. Either a name gets mixed up, or a stranger thinks we’re someone that we’re not. But, usually, we can just shrug it off and move on with our lives. But when this recently happened to comedian Paula Skaggs, she chose to make the most of it.
Skaggs, who’s also a writer and producer, is best known for her work with Second City. She also has a podcast called Being Earnest that she hosts with friend Josh Linden. There they talk about comedy and a wide variety of topics ranging from pizza to bugs. So when it comes to captivating an audience, she’s a pro – even on Twitter.
Probably because we’ve all been on the receiving end of an honest mistake or two, and only wish we would have thought to take it to the next level like she did.

Skaggs appears to have mistakenly gotten an email from the International Conference on Dentistry and Oral Health. This seems to be a legit event, which is taking place in the U.K. from September 16 to 18, 2019.

For one, according to their website, this conference will feature “an impressive roaster of keynote speakers.”
If this were such a big event, you’d assume they’d have someone spellcheck their site before going live…

Her first speech idea was called “Arts, Crafts, Teeth… and YOU! Simple, Fun Art Projects to do with Discarded Teeth.”

Sadly, they didn’t respond. So, this prompted Skaggs to change up her topic suggestions.

That should have been the biggest dead giveaway.

It turns out that she wasn’t the only non-dentist invited, meaning that the panelists could be anyone.

You have to wonder whether or not the creators of the conference started panicking after Skaggs sent in that first email. Without a doubt, using teeth for arts and crafts would have been the most talked-about speech at the conference.
