The Internet Is Freaking Out Over The #BottleCapChallenge And The Videos Are Amazing

Whenever the internet erupts, there’s usually a very, very dumb — but highly entertaining — reason behind it. Whether it’s because an egg got the most followers on Instagram, or because Taylor Swift‘s squad is doing the #MannequinChallenge, people absolutely love to indulge in the silliest stuff. Because life should be fun! Well, hold onto your iPhones, because the newest internet-exploding trend has emerged, the #BottleCapChallenge.
This one involves taking the top off of a screw-cap bottle and then acting like a trained ninja to kick said cap straight off of the bottle–without knocking the bottle over. If you’re shaking your head and saying, “nope, that can’t be done,” you’d be wrong. Somehow, there are a lot more agile people out there in the world than you might think!
Apparently, this all started in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) when Taekwondo champion Farabi Davletchin used a slow-motion roundhouse kick literally swipe the top of a water bottle right off. Smooth as silk, you guys. In the caption, he tagged Conor McGregor, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan, and Jean-Claude Van Damme, challenging them to conquer the same great and mighty feat.
And so began a #challenge for the ages.
Could Jason Statham do it? You bet he did. It was quick, incredibly serious, and perfectly done. He then passed the challenge onto Guy Ritchie.
Now back to Farabi Davletchin’s request for Conor McGregor to do the challenge.
Because we all would like very much to see Conor McGregor do this challenge, please.
And with a bottle of alcohol in his hand, he destroyed the challenge.
But could someone also do the #bottlecapchallenge while blindfolded?
Of course, not.
Wait — we’re wrong. Donnie Yen actually did just that. Now everyone’s calling for the #TheDonnieYenChallenge.

Then there’s a video from combat sports champion and stuntman Cung Le, who tackled not only one but two bottles — at the same time.
Now that’s skill.
My sons Anthony & Robert wanted me to take part in the #bottlecapchallenge so I had to challenge myself to take it up another level. First take was just me warming up. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/OvU2usXo2o

Of course, this has since inspired all sorts of incredibly talented people to take on the same task — like this totally masked spider man who nails it. Incredible, right?
We have to give major props to this woman.
She threw a dang flip-flop at a bottle and knocked the top off perfectly. Brava!

Even a kid — a tiny one at that — kicked a soccer ball at a bottle and nailed it.
What radioactive spider bit all of these talented people?

And this woman just takes the cake.
She does a perfect kick and knocks the cap off with a bare foot.

How many people can say they breakdanced the bottle cap off?
Not very many, we bet.
