Ariana Grande Revealed A Surprising Secret About Her Iconic Ponytail

Ariana Grande has been in the news a lot these days. Aside from being a talented singer who’s about to embark on a new tour, she just went through a pretty public breakup with Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson. Then, there was that song she released about him and her other exes just moments before Davidson’s live show this past week. Now, she’s making the news again — this time for a personal reason. Grande, who always happens to rock a high pony, made it clear that keeping up with the style hurts. Literally.

Grande first became known for the style back in 2014. The reason for the pony was because her hair suffered from a lot of damage when she played the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon show Victorious. Her character was a redhead. Grande isn’t, which means she had to undergo a lot of bleaching and dye for years.

“I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down,” Grande said in 2014 on Facebook. “It’s all that works for now (AND I’m comfortable for the first time in years).”

Since then, she’s embraced the ponytail. Even though it’s a harder style to maintain than you might think.

While it always looks glamorous, it also looks rather heavy. Singer Camila Cabello tried the look out, and had to give mad props to Grande for sticking with it.

While it’s a shame that Grande is suffering on a daily basis, at least she found a style that both suits her and will never go out of style.
