Watch What Happens When This 2,000-Pound Bath Bomb Gets Dropped In A Pool

Bath bombs are the perfect way to turn your ordinary bathtub into a spa-worthy tub of total relaxation. Not only do bath bombs smell amazing, but certain types can really pamper your skin — or at least turn your bathwater blue, making you feel like a mermaid. Speaking of fantasies, have you ever wonder what it would look like to see a 2,000-pound bath bomb get dropped in a pool? Nothing is better than watching these beauty bombs hit water, so we imagine that a pool-sized bath bomb would take this satisfaction and multiply it by a million.

Vat19, the company known best for its quirky gadgets, fun gummies, and on-the-nose holiday gifts, tested out the bath bomb in a video that’s since gone viral. It might seem intense to create a ginormous bath bomb and to also find a pool to experiment in, but hey — that’s basically what employees at Vat19 do for a living. They brainstorm weird things and make them a reality.

The crew was actually inspired to create this particular video after they saw a bath bomb turn a tub black. The thought was: How big of a bath bomb would you need to change the color of an entire pool? Turns out, it needs to be pretty massive. Good thing Jamie, the boss over at Vat19, lent the video his pool in the name of science.

The team constructed the bomb using corn starch, citric acid, baking soda, and food dye. Black food dye, because come on  — that’s the coolest color for a pool.

So…was it worth it? Totally.

Not only did the staffers have a ton of fun swimming in a pool with slowly evaporating bath bomb parts, but it must have been so cool to see the entire pool turn black. If they ever have to look for another job — unsure why they would, since Vat19 seems to be one of the coolest places to clock in every day — having “constructed a 2,000-pound bath bomb” is the best special skill to put on a resume.
