Discontinued Pizza Hut Items We Want Them To Bring Back ASAP

Some of the most amazing Pizza Hut products are a thing of the past. Here are some of the absolute best discontinued Pizza Hut items.

Sicilian Lasagna Pizza

Ever find yourself in the mood for a good slice of Sicilian pizza? Well, the Sicilian Lasagna Pizza definitely would not have satisfied that craving.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all that we expected. “Despite its name, the Sicilian Lasagna Pizza is not merely a big dish of lasagna dumped on a crust,” wrote the Houston Chronicle.

Pizza Hut quietly removed it from their menu after a year, and it’s remained in relative obscurity since. It’s disappointing, too, because you can see the potential that it had.

Panormous Pizza

If you need a ton of pizza for a party, Pizza Hut had your back. This was square and was the biggest Pan Pizza that the company had released.

In America today, it’s tough to find. You have to give props to Pizza Hut for creating a brand-new word that should really make a comeback to our daily vocabulary.

Hopefully, Pizza Hut will see that Americans want them to bring back their super delicious pan pizza! If it’s finding international success, then why not bring it back?

The Big Italy

Oh, you thought the Panormous Pizza was big? Not compared to The Big Italy. According to the commercial, it was nearly two feet of pizza. Just think about that.

The hand-stretched crust had a ton of room for toppings, making it a really good selection for a basketball team. Or a huge, hungry family.

After 2010, though, the novelty menu item seemingly faded into obscurity. It’s hard to keep something like that relevant after the initial buzz dies down.

Chocolate Dunkers

The same menu can get boring after a while, especially if you’re only really selling one type of food. So when Pizza Hut branched out into desserts, we were ecstatic.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end — chocolate dunkers were discontinued in 2016, with fans everywhere outraged by the news. Maybe it’s time for a comeback.

Oh, who are we kidding? Of course it’s time for a comeback. There wouldn’t be a whole Change.org petition if people didn’t desperately want them back.

Quepapas

Quepapas were almost like a jalapeño tater tot, with a little bit of cheese inside. Some locations still have them, but they’re mostly off the menu.

Orders typically came with Ranch dipping sauce to make them even more enjoyable. They were the perfect side to share with the family, making their disappearance even sadder.

Whether or not they’ll ever be more widespread remains a mystery. Some people swear by them; others have never tried them. Have you ever had this discontinued Pizza Hut snack?

Taco Pizza

Back in 1979, Pizza Hut had a taco pizza that actually still looks really good. It was a pizza-looking, taco-tasting pizza, and it seemed to emulate both popular foods.

It’s the same as with the quepapas. Make them widely available! Clearly, the people love it. This pizza is topped with classic taco offerings, like ground beef, cheese, and more.

Now, will Taco Bell ever make a pizza taco, stuffed with cheese and pepperoni? That’s the real question here. We think they should do a crossover or something together.

The Bag Bag

It’s called the “Bag Bag,” and it’s just a duffel bag that you could get for a dollar with your order. If you think it could hold pizzas, you’re mistaken.

This seems like just a gimmick for Pizza Hut to promote themselves while you’re on summer vacation, or at a sleepover with your friends. Just a little Pizza Hut swag.

We think it would be cool to get a bag for just a dollar. So we think they should bring back this discontinued Pizza Hut item, too.

Tuscani Bacon Mac N Cheese

Their Chicken Alfredo and Meaty Marinara pasta are both still around. But their Tuscani Bacon Mac N Cheese, which was reportedly introduced in September of 2008, didn’t live as long.

You’d assume that anything with bacon in it would become a menu staple. But it seems like Pizza Hut knew that most people were still going there for the pizza.

There were other Tuscani pastas on the menu, but they were all discontinued, to be replaced by oven-baked pastas. Those sound pretty good, so we’re not too mad about it.

The Priazzo

It sounds delicious. The Priazzo entered the scene back in 1985, and it was supposed to resemble a deep-dish pizza. Unfortunately, it was discontinued later on.

That’s totally understandable; after all, you don’t go to a fast food joint for a meal that takes hours. Still, people are lamenting its loss to this day.

Most notably, there’s a Facebook page dedicated to reviving the Priazzo, run by people who are apparently nostalgic for the days when it reigned supreme.

The Twisted Crust Pizza

The Twisted Crust Pizza was first launched back in 2001, died out, and experienced a revamp in 2015. Although its run was relatively short-lived after that, we’ll never forget it.

This pizza came with two dipping sauces and was a pretty good way of combining both pizza and breadsticks. It was also easy to hold.

Who knows why this one is no longer around? One of the main pulls of Twisted Pizza was its inclusion of breadsticks, which was a top seller at Pizza Hut.

The Pizza Hut Refillable Pepsi Jug

Like the Bag Bag, this discontinued Pizza Hut item wasn’t on the menu, but it’ll fill you with nostalgia nonetheless. When did you last enjoy Pepsi from a jug?

But this item simply wasn’t popular enough. Refillable mugs are one thing. Refillable jugs are another. Not everyone wanted a 1/2 gallon jug to cart around with them everywhere.

While we definitely support the environment, we get why people maybe weren’t so on board with this idea, and why it ultimately flopped. Still, good times.

The P’zolo

Pizza Hut tried to get clever with sandwiches. Its stuffed sub was introduced in 2012, possibly to scare Subway out of the sandwich game. But they just didn’t land.

Even though Pizza Hut put its own special twist on the P’Zolo, it was in clear competition with Subway. And that immediately put it at a disadvantage.

P’Zolos came in three different flavors: Meat Trio, a mix of Italian sausage, pepperoni, and ham, Buffalo Chicken, and Italian steak. Honestly, it’s making us hungry just thinking about it.

The “Natural”

They tried to release a pizza called the “Natural,” which included a whole-grain crust and no high fructose corn syrup. The crust was sweetened with honey.

Unfortunately, this discontinued Pizza Hut menu item didn’t last. After being introduced in 2008, the pizza chain quietly took it off the menu one or two years later.

Maybe they’d be better off introducing a new line of health-conscious items that won’t intersect with the world of delicious, greasy pizza. Who needs health, anyway?

Toasted Asiago Crust

Pizza Hut knows how to max out their crusts with all kinds of really cool flavors. Toasted parmesan, salted pretzel, honey sriracha, fiery red pepper…the list goes on and on.

So what was the Toasted Asiago crust? Well, this crust had shredded asiago cheese melted and toasted on top. Unfortunately, it didn’t sell as well as the others.

Introduced in 2014, the Toasted Asiago Crust option came to life. Apparently, it just didn’t sell well enough to warrant keeping it on the menu full-time.

The Triple Deckeroni Pizza

This pizza seems like another pie that requires a lot of work, especially with the amount of meats and cheeses. As the name suggests, this pizza is a triple-decker.

The great thing about this one was the possibility of mixing and matching. You could include a variety of different toppings to suit your tastes perfectly.

This came out in the mid-’90s, which is the era that’s in the midst of having a comeback. So it’s always possible for Pizza Hut to temporarily bring it back…

The Big New Yorker

Sorry, Chicago — New York pizza from is the best. That’s likely why Pizza Hut introduced the 16″ Big New Yorker back in the late ’90s. 

This pizza is huge, and was brought back deliberately right before the biggest game in America — the Super Bowl. Now that is strategic timing.

While the Big New Yorker is back, some argue that it’s not better. It’s a little pricier than the original was (although let’s be honest — what isn’t nowadays?). 

Dippin’ Strips Pizza

Back in the early 2000s, Pizza Hut introduced an ingenious menu item: Dippin’ Strips. Ok, we know it got discontinued, but it was cool while it lasted.

Dippin’ Strips were served as a rectangular pizza that could be torn into strips meant for dipping into sauces. Three sauces were provided: marinara, garlic, and ranch.

Apparently, a ton of people like to dip their pizza into sauces, so Pizza Hut invented this specially for them. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long.

The Bigfoot

Yes — it was big. Pizza Hut threw all of their money behind Bigfoot Pizza in the 90s, certain that it would be a hit.

Needless to say, they had no such luck. Even though they offered a free month of HBO with every purchase, it was more trouble than it was worth.

The pizza itself could be cut into 21 slices, and measured two feet long. As you can imagine, it took way too much work to make.

Cheesy Bites Pizza

If you like stuffed crust and mozzarella sticks, then you would’ve loved this. The crust for a Cheesy Bites Pizza was basically nuggets filled with melted cheese.

Unlike your standard stuffed crust, you could pull each individual “bite” of cheesy goodness off of the pizza. It was like two meals in one.

These were popular in the 2010s but were eventually removed from the menu. We’re not sure why. They had a brief comeback in 2019, though.

Stuffed Crust Gold

Like many of the greats, this menu item was only sold for a limited time. But, oh, was that limited time glorious. Do you remember this discontinued Pizza Hut item?

Of course, it’s hard to go wrong with a stuffed crust. In 2003, Pizza Hut decided to get cheesier — and crunchier! — than ever before.

This pizza had shredded cheddar cheese sprinkled on top of the crust, before being baked with the rest of the pie. We’d eat it. If only we could.

Detroit Style

No, New York and Chicago aren’t the only cities known for their pizza. Detroit has its own style, and in 2021, Pizza Hut’s version was all the rage.

Similar to Chicago-style in thickness, this pizza is square-shaped, with an airy crust and an emphasis on cheesiness. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long at Pizza Hut.

People can be picky with their pizza, and Detroit-style isn’t that popular outside of the Midwest. Still, as a limited-time-only item, it could return at any time.

Peruvian Cherry Peppers

Perhaps closer to cherries than to peppers, these were a super popular Pizza Hut topping. They were really sweet, with a nice hint of spice.

Sadly, they were removed as a menu item in 2018. However, if you’ve got a craving, you’re in luck — you can still buy these peppers elsewhere.

Pizza Hut bought Sweety Drop Peppers and resold them under a new name. They’re by no means a Pizza Hut exclusive, but they were a fun pizza topping.

Pizza Mia

With the Pizza Mia, affordability was the name of the game. These pizzas were medium-sized, simple, and meant to be bought in bulk. Pizza party anyone?

For a minimum of three 12-inch pizzas, you would pay five bucks each. If you only bought one, though, you’d pay nearly two dollars more.

There were no toppings. Aside from the cheap price (and the sweeter sauce), the Pizza Mia wasn’t that special. After its 2008 launch, it quietly disappeared.

Stuffed Pizza Rollers

Like regular pizza rolls? Then you would’ve loved Stuffed Pizza Rollers. They were simple enough: pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, rolled up in the crust. Sounds deliciously amazing.

If that wasn’t enough for you, then you could dunk them in marinara sauce or ranch, which was served on the side. They also included Italian seasoning.

This sounds pretty delicious (and cheap — you could buy four for under six bucks). However, they apparently weren’t remarkable enough to last and were discontinued.

Mac n’ Cheese Stuffed Crust

This was a UK Pizza Hut classic that satisfied those late-night, post-party snack cravings. It was exactly as it sounds — crust stuffed with mac n’ cheese.

In 2022, it returned with three flavors. They were the Classic One, topped with onions, the Frank’s Red Hot One (self-explanatory), and the Posh One, topped with truffle oil.

However, that was only for a limited time. There’s no news on whether or not it’ll come to Pizza Hut locations outside of the UK.

Cheeseburger Crust Pizza

The UK Pizza Hut locations aren’t afraid of experimenting when it comes to stuffed crusts. In the 2010s, they unleashed this monster for a limited time.

So…how exactly did they make this? Well, each slice had a beef patty with melted cheese at the top of it, surrounded by pizza crust.

It was removed from the menu soon after. A novelty like that only lasts so long, and it seems like it was difficult to make, too.

Meat Pie Crust

The UK isn’t the only place that gets weird with stuffed crusts. In 2015, Australian Pizza Hut locations rolled out a mince meat pie crust.

Similar in build to the cheeseburger crust, this was a collab with Four’N Twenty, an Australian meat pie company. Apparently, Australians love their meat pies.

So, did they love this? Feelings were mixed, to say the least. It definitely wasn’t the superfood that Pizza Hut was hoping it would be.

Chee-Zee Marmite Stuffed Crust

Pizza Hut locations in New Zealand struck gold when they came out with this limited-time-only menu item. Marmite, a yeast extract spread, is pretty popular there.

If we know anything about Pizza Hut by now, it’s that they love their stuffed crust. This one, in addition to Marmite, had mozzarella cheese.

While everyone else seemed to think that it was gross when it was released in the 2010s, New Zealanders felt differently. We’re not sure how to feel.

S’mores? Cookies? In one giant dessert? You can count us in. This is a special item that’s been on and off the menu since the 2010s.

This huge chocolate chip cookie was topped with chocolate and gooey marshmallows and served in slices, like a dessert pizza. What could be better than that?

It first made waves in the summer of 2016, but was removed once the season ended. However, it returned for a limited time in 2018.

Grilled Cheese Stuffed Crust

Twenty-sixteen was a wild year for Pizza Hut. The same year they released the S’mores Cookie, they released this stuffed crust for the cheese lovers.

Meant to combine “two American favorites,” this pizza mixed melted cheddar and mozzarella to make the ultimate cheesy delight. It was meant for American Pizza Hut locations.

The toppings really tied this discontinued Pizza Hut menu item together. Along with your standard Pizza Hut fare, the Grilled Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza included breadcrumbs and butter.

Golden Garlic Knots Pizza

When we say golden, we mean literally golden. Only 50 of these pizzas were created in 2016, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Big Game.

The Big Game refers to the famous college football rivalry game played between Stanford and UC Berkeley. As expected, they were only sold in California.

The pizza was topped with 24-karat gold, but don’t worry — you couldn’t crack your teeth on it. That’s because the gold was 100% edible.

Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizza

This one didn’t have any gold on it. But it had something better — garlic knots, stuffed with melted cheese, replacing the plain-old pizza crust.

Similar to Cheesy Bites Pizza, the garlic knots were meant to be torn off and eaten separately. They came with marinara sauce for dipping, of course.

There were 16 garlic knots in total. Like many of Pizza Hut’s most delicious discontinued items, this was released for a limited time in 2016.

Ultimate Stuffed Crust Pizza

This is the king of stuffed crusts. If Pizza Hut’s standard stuffed crusts weren’t cutting it for you, then the Ultimate was the way to go.

Released in 2011, it had mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, all wrapped up in one crust. It was a lot to take in, and was eventually discontinued.

If you’re missing this, not all hope is lost. Apparently, you can call corporate and request to have it specially made. Maybe it’s worth a try?

The P’Zone

How can you say no to a pizza/calzone hybrid? The P’Zone is one of the few fast-food hybrids that actually makes sense, at least in our humble opinion.

These were stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, and served with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. It was a regular menu item in the 2000s.

After being discontinued in the 2010s, it made a triumphant return to US Pizza Hut locations in 2019 — for a limited time. Did you get in on the craze?

Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza

Just when you thought that there couldn’t be any more ways to stuff crusts, the Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza is here to remind you that anything’s possible.

Well, it was here, before it was discontinued. It was released in Canadian and South Korean locations, before making its way to the US in 2015.

It came with a side of mustard to dip the hot dogs in. Shockingly, this wasn’t the only pizza chain-hot-dog crossover. Dominoes also incorporated hot dogs into their menu.

The Fiesta Taco Pizza

The Fiesta Taco Pizza from Pizza Hut was a delightful mashup that bridged the gap between Italian and Mexican cuisines back in 1979. It sounds kind of amazing.

This item was Pizza Hut’s inventive answer to the eternal question: “Pizza or tacos tonight?” It had all the taco fixings — beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.

Although it’s no longer available, the Fiesta Taco Pizza lives on in the memories of those who enjoyed the best of both worlds without having to choose.

Salad Bar

Did you know Pizza Hut once had a salad bar? Those must’ve been wild days. It was complete with all of your favorite salad toppings and dressings.

The salad bar was introduced as part of the Pizza Hut dine-in experience, which isn’t really a big part of the fast food restaurant now.

It remains a cherished part of Pizza Hut’s history. A symbol of communal dining and the joy of customizing your meal just the way you like it.

The Triple Cheese Covered Stuffed Crust Pizza

This one really the cheesy experience to a whole new level. Launched as an innovative delight for cheese lovers, this pizza featured three cheeses over a stuffed crust.

The blend of parmesan, asiago, and cheddar added a richer flavor. It also catered to those who believe there’s no such thing as too much cheese.

While it was a dream come true for cheese aficionados, like many experimental dishes, it didn’t find a permanent spot on the menu. Goodbye, good friend.

The Big Dipper

The Big Dipper was a star-studded adventure into the world of oversized, shareable pizzas. It was designed to feed a crowd with its rectangular shape and generous size.

This item made its debut as a fun, interactive dining experience. Diners could enjoy a variety of dipping sauces, turning each piece into a custom flavor experience.

Though it made a fleeting comeback in 2020, its limited availability has left many reminiscing about those communal, dip-filled moments. Hopefully it makes another comeback someday.

The “Edge”

Oh, where to start? This pizza bravely ventured where few had dared to go before – right to the very edge of the pizza itself.

Launched in the ’90s, it was a bold move into thin-crust territory. And it was completely decked out with toppings that were unconfined by a crust.

The Edge’s mission was clear: deliver maximum flavor with each bite. Though it’s dipped in and out of the menu over the years, it remains a cult favorite.

The Supreme Sandwich

Here’s one you don’t see discussed very much. We had to delve deep into Pizza Hut employee-written blogs and forums to find this forgotten sandwich.

Apparently, Pizza Hut sold a sandwich that was essentially just a ham sandwich on an Italian roll. We’re not surprised it faded from memory without a trace.

This not-so-exciting menu item just goes to show that Pizza Hut is known for its pizzas, not sandwiches, for a reason. Leave the sandwiches to the pros.

The Double Sensation

Is one pizza just one too few for you? How about two? One of the more nonsensical menu options on this list is the Double Sensation Pizza.

This item was only sold by Pizza Hut Singapore, and it was released in 2012. It was basically the Frankenstein’s monster of pizza creations.

It had an outer pizza with a stuffed crust, plus an inner, completely different pizza with stuffed crust jammed into the center of the pie.

Cheesy Beef Poutine Pizza

Everyone’s got to try their hand at poutine at some point, and that apparently includes Pizza Hut. Unsurprisingly, this creation was introduced by Pizza Hut Canada.

It was part of a limited menu in Canadian Pizza Hut locations called the “Something for Every Canadian” menu. It also included a Smokey Maple Bacon pizza.

The marketing director of Pizza Hut Canada at the time was right in thinking this could only happen in Canada. Still, we’d like to try it.

Hash Bites Crust Pizza

If you’re looking to carbo-load, look no further than this potato-tastic pizza. It’s your typical pizza, but it has a crust made with tater tots.

This menu item was introduced in New Zealand in 2016, and we’re sad we weren’t there to try it. Maybe Pizza Hut will consider bringing it to the US?

Instead of this, we have garlic knot crust, which just isn’t as exciting. We want tater tots in our pizza crust, and we want it now.

Fish Roe Salmon Cream Cheese Pizza

We wish we were joking with this one. This one isn’t actually discontinued, but we had to include it here anyway. It’s sold in Hong Kong.

This decision by Pizza Hut is absolutely wild. The pizza has two versions with different types of seafood or meat. One has citrus and peaches on it.

But the most disturbing part? There are actual fish eggs inside the crust. Is it crazy that we kind of want this to come to the US?

Ginger Boom Boom Crust

This crust flavor debuted all the way back in 2014. It was one of many wacky crust flavors to be released at the time, though it’s quietly vanished.

You could have this crust on any kind of pizza. According to a Time article published after the release, it barely tasted like ginger.

Apparently, the garlic flavor was more prominent. Hey, nothing wrong with garlic! Maybe that was the “boom boom” part. If it returned, we’d give it a try.

Holiday Ham Pizza

This discontinued Pizza Hut item might have Americans scratching their heads. From what we’ve seen, it looks like it’s a holiday speciality on Filipino menus.

If you didn’t already guess, it only rolls around once a year, around Christmastime. It’s like a classic Christmas ham on a pizza pie.

Other toppings include pineapple chunks and bell peppers. Honestly, it sounds a lot like a Hawaiian pizza. If you’re a fan of that, you’ll probably like this.

Pizza Hut Nostalgia

Ah, the discontinued treasures of Pizza Hut—a walk down memory lane for many of us, from the bold experiments like The “Edge” to feasts like The Big Dipper.

Each item holds a special place in our hearts (and stomachs). These creations were more than just meals; they were part of many childhoods and family moments.

While we may not be able to order these classics anymore, their legacy lives on in the stories we share and our wishes for just one more slice.
