Turn Your Dreams into Reality with Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends!

Do your kids dream of being heroes? While they can’t be the heroes of the whole neighborhood, they can be the heroes of your living room with these 7 playtime DIYs!

Whether it’s zooming around in Glow in the Dark Cars or living the vigilante life in a Spidey Poncho, your kids will love being part of the crew with Spidey and his friends! While they may not be able to fight the Green Goblin or Electro, they’ll definitely have a blast roaming the streets fighting crime amongst the Glow in the Dark CityScape.

Sponge Stamp On Bricks

Materials: 

Sponges 

– Foam Poster Board

– Hot Glue Gun & Glue 

– Interior Matte Wall Paint in Desired Color 

Instructions:

  1. Arrange sponges on foam poster board in rows of three, then two, then three. This pattern allows the bricks to interlock when stamped. 
  2. Mark the placement of each sponge using a pencil. 
  3. Using hot glue, glue down each sponge. 
  4. Pour paint in a tray large enough to cover your stamp. 
  5. Dip stamp in paint, stamping off excess paint before placing your first stamp. 
  6. Continue the pattern across desired surface area while interlocking each stamp. 

Glow in the Dark CityScape  

Materials:

– Cardboard Boxes 

Construction Paper 

Super 77 Adhesive 

– White Acrylic Paint 

Glow in the Dark Paint 

– Box Cutter 

Instructions:

  1. Close up the recycled box using masking tape. 
  2. Cover the recycled box in construction paper using super 77 adhesive spray. 
  3. Create an evenly spaced grid across the box using masking tape resulting in rows of individual squares. 
  4. Paint a base coat of white paint over the tape grid. 
  5. Add a layer of glow in the dark paint
  6. Remove masking tape to reveal glow in the dark windows. 
  7. Stack in desired position. 

Spidey Poncho

Materials:

– 28 ½ x 57 inch piece of hot pink felt 

– 281/2 x 57 inch piece of white felt 

Glow in the Dark Yarn

– Hot Glue Gun and Glue 

– 1 Yard of Ribbon 

– Chalk 

– Fabric Tape Measure 

– Sharp Scissors 

Instructions:

  1. Fold pink felt in half widthwise with the fold on the left. Using chalk mark a quarter circle with a 28 1/2 -inch radius. Cut along the quarter circle. 
  2. Measure another three inch radius circle or head hole in the corner of the fabric. Cut along markings. 
  3. Using chalk and a disposable dessert plate mark scallops along the edge of the circle. Cut scallops. 
  4. Draw spider web pattern on the poncho copying the pattern from the tutorial for help! Cut pattern.
  5. Layer white felt over and use hot glue to attach the two fabrics making sure to remove excess fabric. 
  6. Attach glow in the dark yarn using hot glue along the lines of the spider web. 
  7. Attach the ribbon by using hot glue or sewing a piece to each side of the neckline. 

Glow in the Dark Footprints

Materials: 

Glow in the Dark Paint 

– Spidey and Friends Action Figures 

Instructions:

  1. Apply glow in the dark paint to the character’s feet. 
  2. Stamp characters footprint in desired areas. 

Spider Web Shirt

Materials:

– Two cotton t-shirts in two different colors 

– Sharp scissors 

– Chalk or fabric marker

Instructions:

  1. Draw spider web pattern on the chest of the t-shirt using the tutorial for help! 
  2. Cut out negative space in the pattern leaving the lines of the spider web intact. 
  3. Layer over a different color t-shirt to show off the pattern! 

Glow in the Dark Cars

Materials:

– Cardboard Boxes 

Construction Paper 

Super 77 Adhesive 

– White Acrylic Paint 

Glow in the Dark Paint 

– Paper Plates 

– Box Cutter 

Instructions:

  1. Create the wheels by layering various sized and colored paper plates over each other. 
  2. Create spider stencil on a dessert plate using the tutorial for help! 
  3. Layer stencil over wheel and spray with spray paint to create spidey design. 
  4. Create the body of the car by closing up the recycled box using masking tape. 
  5. Cover the recycled box in construction paper using super 77 adhesive spray. 
  6. Create another rectangular spider web stencil and layer it over the body of the car. 
  7. Spray with spray paint to create web design. 
  8. Create headlight shapes using construction paper and apply them to the front of car. 
  9. Apply glow in the dark paint to outline the web for extra dimension. 
  10. Cut the opening in the top of the car in the desired shape or use the template from the tutorial for help. 
  11. Fold back the flaps you’ve created and enjoy!
