Who Runs The World? GIRLS… With These Clever, Girly Hacks

Summertime is the best time of year. Sand, sun, saltwater, and no school (for some — lucky!) is one of the most amazing combinations in the world. I mean, who doesn’t like to spend a hot summer day eating ice cream on the boardwalk while watching the waves go by? It’s a dream! And there is always so much to do during this time of year! Outdoor concerts, surfing, hiking, shopping for cute summer hats, shopping for cute summer sandals, shopping for cute summer sunglasses — the list goes on and on.

However, if you’re a girl, summer can be… a bit tricky. What bathing suit should you wear to the beach? Should you experiment with a crop top when temperatures get insane? What happens when you get lipstick stuck on your teeth when going on a picnic with your crush? And oh no — what happens if you drop food on your white tee during that same exact picnic trip? Don’t worry. We’ve got your back. To answer your questions and give you a helping hand, we have the following summer hacks for girls.

Now take a deep breath and enjoy the sunshine. You deserve it!

Avoid the lipstick getting on your teeth nightmare

Materials:

  • Q-tip

Instructions:

  1. Bite down on a Q-tip, making sure there is a gap between your lips.
  2. Apply your lipstick as you would.

Turn those old leggings into a cute bikini top

Materials:

  • leggings
  • bangle
  • fabric glue
  • scissors

Instructions:

  1. Fold the leggings in half, lengthwise.
  2. Cut off the leg part of the leggings, so you’re left with shorts and two separate leg pieces.
  3. Bring the bottoms of the leg pieces together and loop each end through half of the bangle.
  4. Fold over the bottom of each leg piece to secure it to the bangle and glue down each fold.

DIY Bleach Pen

Materials:

  • marker
  • tweezers
  • bleach

Instructions:

  1. Pry open an old, dried out marker and place the felt tip and base in a bowl full of warm water.
  2. Let the marker sit until all of the color has bled out. Remove from the water when this is done.
  3. Put the marker in a new bowl and pour bleach in it. Let it sit in the bleach until you know it’s been saturated.
  4. Remove the marker from the bleach and put it back in the case of the marker.

Turn that old camisole into an adorable crop top

[image_with_caption text=”Blossom” image=”https://itsblossom.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/girlhacks2.jpg”]

Materials:

  • camisole tank top
  • fabric scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut off the bottom portion of the camisole tank top.
  2. Take the piece you cut off, turn it vertically and cut triangles into the top and bottom, so you’re left with a diamond shape.
  3. Loop the piece of the camisole through the top and tie it together in the front.
