No-Stick Salmon
Get that fresh lemon taste without losing half your dinner to the grill.
Materials:
- salmon
- lemons
- knife
- cutting board
- grill
- seasonings of your choice
Instructions:
- Pre-heat the grill.
- Cut up a lemon.
- Lay at least 3 sliced lemons on the heated grill.
- Place your raw salmon over the lemons.
- Sprinkle the seasonings of your choice on the salmon.
- Close the lid of the grill and allow the salmon to cook.
Onion Flower
We’ve got the healthier restaurant alternative you can enjoy at home!
Materials:
- white onion
- knife
- cutting board
- apple cutter
- egg wash
- breadcrumbs
- grill
Instructions:
- Peel the outside layer of the white onion.
- Cut the tip of the onion off, leaving the bottom intact.
- Rest the onion on its base and cut into it with an apple cutter. Don’t cut all the way through the onion, though!
- Dip the cut onion in your bowl with the egg wash.
- Transfer the onion to the bowl of breadcrumbs.
- Repeat steps 4-5 until you’ve built up enough layers.
- Grill the onion for 40-45 minutes at 350°F/176°C.
Edible Bowls
Cut down on the number of dishes you need to clean by turning some bell peppers into your dipping bowls.
Materials:
- bell peppers
- cutting board
- knife
- spoon
Instructions:
- From the top, cut around the stem of the bell pepper, like you’re getting ready to carve a pumpkin.
- Remove the top.
- Scrape out the seeds and insides with a spoon.
- Fill the hollowed out bell pepper with whatever dipping sauce you want.
Always Juicy Patties
Never worry about your burgers drying out again!
Materials:
- onions
- ground beef
- spatula
- grill
Instructions:
- Peel and cut the onion. Set aside each ring.
- Press the ground beef into the mold of each onion ring.
- Transfer the patty to the heated grill.
- Grill the patty as you normally would.
Space Saver
Not enough room on the grill? No problem!
Materials:
- two tin cans
- cooling rack
- hamburger buns
- hotdog buns
Instructions:
- Remove any paper labels from the tin cans.
- Place one can towards the back of the grill.
- Place the other towards the front.
- Rest a grated cooling rack over the tin cans.
- Place any hotdog or hamburger buns on the cooling rack.
- Let the buns heat up for 2-5 minutes.
Easy Taco Shells
Here’s a quick way to whip up some taco shells in just 5 minutes!
Materials:
- two tin cans
- cooling rack
- soft tortillas
Instructions:
- Repeat steps 1-4 from the “Space Saving” hack.
- Fold soft tortillas over the grates.
- Let them heat up for 5 minutes.
Ready-To-Go Patties
Cooking for a crowd? Save some time with these ready-to-go patties.
Materials:
- gallon-sized freezer bag
- ground beef
- chopped onion
- parsley
- skewer
- freezer
- tongs
- grill
Instructions:
- Fill a freezer bag with ground beef, chopped onion, and parsley.
- Remove any air before sealing the bag.
- Through the bag, squish the ground beef mixture until the entire bag is filled.
- Using a skewer, press two horizontal lines in the bag.
- Press 2 vertical lines in the bag, creating 9 square patties.
- Freeze the patties until you’re ready to use them.
- Take the bag out of the freezer and crack the bag along the creases. This will break apart each patty.
- Remove each patty from the bag and put them on the heated grill.
- Grill as you normally would.
Easy Flipping
Make sure every side gets cooked evenly!
Materials:
- skewers
- tongs
- grill
- hot dogs, chicken breasts, shrimp, etc.
Instructions:
- Line up your choice of protein parallel to one another.
- Start from the bottom at one end and push the skewer through your hot dogs, chicken breasts, or shrimp.
- Repeat with another skewer at the other end.
