It feels like just yesterday that we found out the rapper Cardi B was pregnant with her husband Offset’s child. The performer confirmed the rumors that had been swirling for months in the most iconic way possible: by showing off her baby bump in the middle of her Saturday Night Live performance of her single “Be Careful.” That was back in April, and shortly after, Cardi confirmed that she was expected to give birth during the first week of July. Well, the time has come! Cardi just gave birth to a baby girl, and her name is lovely and unique — not that we expected anything less!
Cardi B welcomed her first child into world with an Instagram post, as one does nowadays. According to the post, the baby girl was born on Tuesday, July 10th. The unforgettable photo shows a seemingly naked Cardi B showing off her pregnant belly in a room full of brightly colored flowers. The caption simply states the baby’s name: “Kulture Kiari Cephus 07/10/18🎀🌸 @offsetyrn”

There had been rumors that Cardi was in labor for a few days before she actually gave birth. On July 6th, she posted a video that The Blast speculated was from her birthing suite in the hospital. In the video, Cardi said, “Everyone been hitting me up on my DM… I wish I gave birth!” The Blast noticed that the wallpaper behind Cardi looked like the wallpaper in a popular Atlanta-area hospital. Cardi took down the video shortly afterwards.

We love the super unique name Cardi chose for her baby girl, and we can’t wait to hear more about it. It’s so different that we’re dying to know if there’s some sort of story behind it, or if it has a special meaning — or maybe Cardi just liked it! We do know that Culture and Culture II are the names of Offset’s albums with Migos. Is her daughter’s name an ode to her husband? Kiari Kendrell is Offset’s real name, so the name “Kulture Kiari” has a lot of meaning to it. Cute! Whatever the reason she picked it, we think it’s awesome that she went for something so creative.
