There’s something about celebrity weddings. Whether it’s the seven-foot-tall cakes, lavish gowns, or raucous receptions, these extravagant ceremonies can seem like something out of a fairytale.

!!"

Celebrities don’t have many limits when it comes to planning their big day. Menus curated by famous chefs, receptions manned by the best DJs in the world, and castles ready to be furnished for their nuptials are all at their fingertips. So have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a fly on the wall at one of these events? Take that fantasy one step further, and imagine being a guest at your favorite celebrity’s wedding. Would you be able to keep it cool?

Lately, the trend has been for celebrities to skip the out-of-control festivities in favor of a courthouse wedding. Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) made headlines when they skipped out on a star-studded ceremony and began married life with a license and some rings, for example. Cardi B and Offset got married in their bedroom unbeknownst to anyone.

So as celebrity weddings slowly go extinct, we can’t help but wonder how incredible it must have been to attend Kim and Kanye’s wedding or to have sat in Jay-Z’s apartment as he professed his undying love to Beyoncé. Will those events be the last vestiges of old Hollywood splurging?

These are the most incredible celebrity weddings we wish we scored an invite to.

Hailey Baldwin And Justin Bieber

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/B3FhyYcHH9p/” hidecaption=true]

This model and world-recognized pop singer tied the know in the most lowkey way in September of 2018. A New York court official managed the whole thing and reportedly kept the occasion on the “DL.” No family members or friends witnessed the event.

But a year later, the couple took an entirely different route.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/B39o_SjJRzQ/”]

Yes, they were still private. In fact, Baldwin traveled to the South Carolina wedding venue in a white tent so no paparazzi could catch a glimpse of her.

However, once inside the lush affair, about 150 guests greeted the young bride for the late September 2019 ceremony.

And each bottle of Moët at the event was decked out in thousands of Swarovski crystals.

Solange Knowles And Alan Ferguson

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BgpQDmzlvy0/”]

Their New Orleans ceremony was unlike any other wedding. In 2014, Solange Knowles’ wedding to director Alan Ferguson stunned everyone.

It was the event of the year.

The notoriously private couple surprised everyone with a slew of incredible photos detailing the function. It featured the couple’s arrival on bicycles and an iconic bridal party which included Solange’s sister, Beyoncé, and mom, Tina.

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/vfFjnTPwxH/”]

The bridal party celebrated Black women.

And the small touches were impeccable. They raised sparklers for toasts instead of glasses of champagne.

And that’s not all.

Solange wore an incredible ivory caped gown by Humberto Leon for Kenzo and even recruited DJ Questlove to soundtrack the reception. The “Don’t Touch My Hair” vocalist made hers a wedding for the ages. If only we could go back in time and attend.

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx3SZIqHNVm/”]

It was a multi-destination wedding that spanned Italy and France. Kimye spares no expense when it comes to love.

When this couple got married in 2014, it looked like they were set to tie the knot in Paris.

But after a surprise venue change, guests found themselves in Florence, Italy. The fairy tale ceremony was preceded by a weekend of events, including a bachelorette party at Hôtel Costes, a pre-wedding lunch hosted by Valentino himself at Château de Wideville.

The location was just outside of Paris.

There was also a rehearsal dinner in the Palace of Versailles’s Hall of Mirrors. The luxury was unmatched.

On the day of the wedding, guests were flown by private jets into Florence.

Opera singer, Andrea Bocelli sang as Kim walked down the aisle; Jaden Smith attended as Kylie’s date in a white Batman costume.

The couple seriously outdid themselves.

And the guestlist boasted the crème de la crème of stars, including Serena Williams, André Leon Talley, and director Steve McQueen.

Katy Perry And Russell Brand

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/yougetmouth/status/1054832332186693634″]

The marriage ended in two years, but the ceremony was wild.

The couple first got together in 2009 after Katy Perry threw a water bottle at Russell Brand’s head during rehearsals for the MTV Video Music Awards. “I was really annoyed, but when she came up to me she was so mouthy, smart and cocky, it made me really interested,” Brand told Metro UK.

Their strange, albeit extravagant, wedding was a fusion of Hindu and Indian traditions.

Interestingly, though, neither of them claimed to be of South Asian descent.

It was a private and spiritual weekend.

The ceremony occurred near the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan, India. And only about 80 guests attended.

Perry and Brand celebrated with a Bollywood-themed party, featuring live elephants, and acrobats and jugglers in Indian garb.

But what had us wishing for an invite were the reports that Katy and Russell spoiled their guests with shopping sprees and safari trips.

Salma Hayek And François-Henri Pinault

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BTYQrTagFvP/” hidecaption=true]

The final cost for their big day amounted to a whopping $3.5 million. In 2009, actress Salma Hayek and billionaire François-Henri Pinault married in Paris.

And the quaint civil ceremony took place on Valentine’s Day.

But just two months later, they celebrated their union for the second time with a magnificent ceremony. Starting with a party the night before the wedding, they kicked things off with a carnival-style masked ball.

The ceremony was just as extravagant, if not more so.

The big day was held at Venice’s opera house, La Fenice. Hayek wore a Balenciaga wedding gown by Nicolas Ghesquiere, and the guest list included Bono, Penelope Cruz, and Woody Harrelson. Plus, they all joined together to sing “Over The Rainbow.”

Beyoncé And Jay Z

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/tQI0Wgi8AC/”]

News from the very private affair has trickled in over the years. The music power couple married in a secret surprise ceremony in 2008.

We weren’t given many details initially.

But Beyoncé And Jay Z teased us over the last couple of years with photos and a supercut video of their nuptials. They shared vows at Jay-Z’s 13,500-square-foot penthouse in Tribeca, NY. Only 40 guests received invitations.

Bey and Jay are notoriously private, but we can’t help but imagine what it was like to be there.

Apparently, everyone partied until 5 a.m. the next morning. And there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to hang out until the wee hours with hip-hop’s royalty.

David And Victoria Beckham

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BTfkaLmjfuB/”]

Their Irish wedding was one for the ages. Soccer star, David Beckham and Posh Spice, AKA Victoria Beckham had a luscious wedding.

It happened in a venue fit for royalty.

The Luttrellstown Castle, set in the outskirts of Dublin in Clonsilla, housed the festivities.

Moreover, the Becknam event took 14 months of planning, and it definitely showed.

They went for a Robin Hood theme, using deep shades of burgundy, dark green, and purple for their color scheme.

Perhaps they took that color theme one step too far, though.

Who can forget the couple’s matching purple suits to mark the occasion?

It was an incredible occasion.

And for some reason, guests were treated to an orchestral arrangement of Spice Girls’ Christmas hit “Goodbye.” Take us back!

Chrissy Teigen And John Legend

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/640P-0Iw7F/” hidecaption=true]

The Grammy-winning singer and the queen of Twitter enjoyed wedded bliss in Italy. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend met after a mutual friend set them up.

And the sort-of-but-not-really blind date was fortuitous.

Exactly seven years and one day after meeting, the two married in Italy at Lake Como. Guests were treated to a welcome gift box that included Prosecco in linen bags emblazoned with the words “Cin Cin.”

Besides the gifts, glitz, and glamour, the ceremony probably included big laughs.

Chrissy had eight bridesmaids, tables were set with tapers in handblown glass holders, and a four-tiered carrot cake.

Wearing a gorgeous Vera Wang for the ceremony, Teigen changed into a deep red dress for the reception where she danced the night away.

According to Martha Stewart Weddings, she “bought it right off the rack.”

The couple rode off in a vintage Silver Cloud Rolls-Royce, with a “married today!” sign on the bumper.

Can you imagine what it would be like to celebrate with the ultimate Twitter Fingers herself?

Sarah Jessica Parker And Matthew Broderick

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/vilehag/status/994696495294242816″]

The fashion icon switched things up for her unusual wedding. On May 19, 1997, Matthew Broderick and Carrie Brad –  we mean, Sarah Jessica Parker, got married in New York.

It was a surprise wedding.

Everyone thought they had gathered for a cocktail party until Broderick’s minister sister began officiating the wedding. And to top it all, Parker wore black.

Being innovative is definitely a signature Carrie Bradshaw move.

“Oh, I wish it was because I was badass,” Parker said in 2016 about her outfit choice. “I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress. There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging.”

Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BEPLRHlPzRM/”]

For Elizabeth Taylor, marriage number eight would be her last. In 1991 Elizabeth Taylor married construction worker Larry Fortensky.

They used Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch for the venue.

One of the 2019 Democratic presidential candidates, Marianne Williamson, officiated the wedding. But the interesting tidbits don’t end there. The ceremony was guarded by a former Israeli army officer and a 100-man security force. They wanted to protect the 160 high-profile guests from the media.

There will be nothing quite like this wedding again, and the paparazzi knew it.

Consequently, one paparazzo parachuted into the ceremony. As for the guests, they sipped on Dom Perignon and chowed on platters of rolled salmon and five tiers of chocolate mousse cake.

Adam Sandler And Jackie Titone

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/LifeCrayonCom/status/375121923031973888″]

Fun was the main objective at the model and comedian’s wedding. When Adam Sandler married model, Jackie Titone there was one guest who completely stole the spotlight.

Sandler’s pet bulldog Meatball dressed for the occasion.

He donned a custom tuxedo white yarmulke of his own. That and the comedian’s energy likely treated everyone to a good laugh.

And who doesn’t love a light-hearted wedding?

Their lavish traditional Jewish wedding in Malibu, CA, occurred after Titone converted to Judaism in 2000.

But we wish we were there for the incredible jokes, good vibes, and the best man.

He was almost definitely a very good boy.

Sofia Vergara And Joe Manganiello

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/-acqP6zJk7/”]

Cue the swooning. Over four days, Sofia Vergara And Joe Manganiello celebrated their loving union.

And it all culminated in an incredible ceremony.

A few days before the ceremony, they hosted a luxurious cocktail party followed by a gorgeous rehearsal dinner at the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach.

The very good-looking couple also took a moment to show everyone why they were getting hitched.

And there was a spot of karaoke when Manganiello serenaded Vergara with the Guns ‘N Roses song “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” One of her friends summed up the atmosphere with a caption: “Know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” Hello, where was our invite?

Jenni Farley And Roger Mathews

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/BHs6LYVA_Rv/”]

The Jersey Shore star’s marriage may not have lasted, but we selfishly wish we were there for the party.

In 2015, JWoww and Roger Mathews exchanged vows in the most Jerseylicious event of the year.

Looking like a Disney princess, Jenny wore a show-stopping YSA Makino gown dripping in diamantes.

The union ended quickly.

However, memorable shenanigans must have marked the occasion. Among the 300 guests, every Jersey Shore cast member was in attendance. It was an over the top occasion, but no guest had a single complaint.

Nicole Richie And Joel Madden

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/DressHaute_/status/718102487065042944″]

When this party girl settled down and married her prince charming, it was an incredible moment. After three years of dating and two adorable babies, Joel Madden finally proposed.

Nicole Richie became his wife.

And the entire wedding was a sight to behold. Richie had not one but three outfit changes that dazzled the 155 guests. Philadelphia, PA, chef P. Wesley Lieberher treated everyone in attendance to a custom menu.

Nicole also made sure her guests had a great time.

They partied all night to tunes curated by Mark Ronson’s sister and Richie’s close friend, Samantha Ronson. In fact, the night had a “bohemian gothic edge.”

Mary-Kate Olsen And Olivier Sarkozy

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/BuzzFeedCeleb/status/671478311868981249″]

The billionaire and pop culture icon got married in a ceremony that made the tabloids talk. At 29, Mary-Kate Olsen married the 46-year-old billionaire and co-head of  Carlyle Group’s Financial Services, Olivier Sarkozy.

The unorthodox wedding happened in 2015.

According to Page Six, the couple kept it low-key with about 50 guests at a lavish Manhattan, NY, apartment with bowls of cigarettes on top of every table.

We can already imagine the air, thick with romance and nicotine.

“Everyone smoked the whole night,” a source revealed. But since everyone had their cellphones taken away, we guess the guests had to keep their hands busy.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

[fm_instagram url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/B0vSXmcnw1M/”]

When you pay $76,000 for security alone, it’s no surprise the couple spent a million dollars for their extravagant Malibu cliff-top ceremony.

According to Mirror, “guests were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and the Los Angeles County Sheriff provided traffic control.”

They specifically held the ceremony under a white marquee to prevent circling helicopters from getting a shot of them.

The outlet also reported they spent “£75,000 on flowers, with 50,000 brought in by exclusive Beverly Hills florist La Premiere, who laid tables with roses, wisteria and tulips to achieve the ‘zen garden’ look.”

Candles were imported from Thailand and guests enjoyed shrimp, caviar, crab, lobster, peppercorn beef, and Dom Perignon champagne.

The party cooled off with “a 13-minute firework display featuring pyrotechnic hearts and smiley faces to a soundtrack by Radiohead, Garbage and Jeff Buckley,” the outlet also reported.

Olivia Wilde And Tao Ruspoli

[fm_twitter url=”https://twitter.com/AppMobileStrike/status/804746853241749504″]

The actress was just 19 when she married Tao Ruspoli during one of the wildest celebrity weddings. Olivia Wilde eloped with Tao Ruspoli, the son of late Italian Prince Dado Ruspoli.

And they did so just six months after meeting.

The union didn’t last, but the state of their wedding was one to remember.

In fact, they exchanged vows on an abandoned school bus in rural Virginia.

Wilde admited, “We were hippies. We lived on that bus for months.”

And we’re sure they were luxe hippies.

Wilde went on to add:

The wedding was a secret, and we wanted to do it someplace where we could hide with our best friends. It was all about the intimacy of the promise we were making.
