Conservation has always been important to me, but recently, I’ve been thinking about how I can make my home even more eco-friendly and green. I’ve done some serious searching in my house to find all sorts of little places that I can make small changes with big benefits for the world. From skincare to kitchen essentials, there are tons of options that are more eco-friendly, made from recycled products, biodegradable products, and environmentally-concious ingredients. This list is full of all the things that I’ve found in my searches, so you can help make your home more eco-friendly, too!
1. Kopari Aluminum Free Deodorant
I don’t know about you, but aluminum in my deodorant is one of those things I’m against. Not just for my body but for the environment! It’s terrible for everyone involved, and when there are great options out there, like this aluminum-free deodorant, it’s an easy way I can do my part. Plus, it smells fantastic and lasts all day long!
2. Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Sheets
I’ve found that an easy way to get rid of some of the single-use plastic in my home is by changing the laundry detergent I use. I’ve opted for the Earth Breeze laundry sheets to help minimize the chemicals I’m producing and cut down on the plastic waste, too. It keeps my laundry clean and smelling fresh and couldn’t be easier to use. Stock up so you always have these on hand!
3. Bamboo Cotton Swabs
I can’t give up cotton swabs. They’re just too useful and a part of my everyday life, but I can give up cotton swabs with plastic in favor of these bamboo swabs. Believe it or not, the bamboo core makes a sturdier swab, so you can work harder and waste less. Keep your bathroom stocked and environmentally friendly with these.

I use quite a few makeup-removing pads, and I always have. Recently, I discovered these fantastic reusable cotton rounds, and the game is changed! We all already know how great Method products are, but this biodegradable Method dish soap is one of the best. This dish soap suds up the way you like, is tough on grease and stains, and is so much better for the environment than the average soap in the average kitchen. A win for the environment and a win for us. It doesn’t hurt that it smells amazing, too!

Don’t compromise on the deep clean you and your dishes need, but also don’t add more waste to the environment. These hard-working sponges are biodegradable, compostable, and made for the eco-conscious kitchen. Grab a set, or three, so you’ve always got some on hand. 13. Virgin Forest 10 Pcs Soft Bristles Bamboo Toothbrush
I love that I can not just keep my teeth clean and bright but also take care of the world with these all-natural, biodegradable toothbrushes. And my kids love how fun and bright they are! You never think about the way toothbrushes add more plastic to the world, but they’re such a big contributor. Replacing your toothbrush with these is one of the easiest ways to adjust your carbon footprint for the better.

I’m a frequent flier, and I used to buy those individual bottles from the store, but then I found these reusable silicone toiletries bottles. 18. ECO SOUL 100% Compostable 9 Inch Paper Plates
Every time I have a big party, I create a wild amount of waste. Paper plates and plastic cups are great for avoiding dishes, but not great for my carbon footprint. I did some hunting and found these compostable plates that ensure I don’t have to do dishes for hours, but also don’t create more trash. When I’m done hosting, they go right in the compost bin!
19. Biodegradable Dental Floss Picks
My kiddos hate flossing, but I can convince them to do it when they can use those handy plastic flossers. But I don’t love that they’re extra plastic waste! So, I hunted for an alternative and found these amazing, straw wheat floss picks. They’re sturdy, they’re as good as our favorite plastic flossers, and they’re eco-friendly.
20. Reusable Beeswax Wrap
If you’re like me and you find yourself popping plastic wrap over bowls and plates and then stashing them in the fridge, you’re going to fall in love with these beeswax covers. I’m such a fan! I use these at least once a week. They’re zero-waste and reusable, but my favorite thing is how fun the patterns are.
21. Caboo Bamboo Flushable Wipes
I’ve got a potty-training kiddo in my house, and we use wet wipes all the time, but they’re not very eco-friendly. I’ve traded out our usual wipes for these great bamboo wipes. They’re flushable, eco-friendly, unscented, and hypoallergenic, so all my bases are covered! Plus, they’re about the same price as the others I used for years.

My skincare routine is a crucial part of my day, and I love using sterile face towels to keep my skin clean and bacteria-free. I’ve replaced my go-to towels with these bamboo towels in an effort to minimize the waste in my household. Just because they hold your actual trash doesn’t mean your trash bags can’t do more. These trash bags are leakproof, super strong, and even have handles! I love them because they work just like my favorite plastic trash bags, but they’re made from sustainable products. The plant-based bags are going to be your new go-to’s.

I love these paper bowls! They’ve been one of my favorite additions to my party essentials. They’re compostable and sturdy at the same time, which I’ve learned is not an easy feat. Hand out bowls all party long without worrying about your carbon footprint.
26. Cleancult Dish Soap Liquid Refills
Liquid dish soap is a must-have in my world, but the plastic bottles they come in are something I wish I could skip. Fortunately, with these Clean Cult refills, that’s a possibility! I’ve bought a beautiful glass dispenser, and I keep it filled with this wild lavender soap. It offers me the dishwashing power without the waste!
27. YAZJIWAN Silicone Stretch Lids
Plastic wrap is so helpful, but it’s also so wasteful. While beeswax covers are an awesome alternative, these silicone covers are another terrific option that’s a little better at keeping your containers airtight. They even prevent spills, suctioning around containers, bowls, and cups of all sizes. Your kitchen will never be the same!
28. Rocketbook Core Reusable Smart Notebook
One of the best things I’ve done for myself has been buy a Rocketbook notebook. Using the reusable paper, I can take all the notes I need, record them in the app, and then start all over again. The amount of paper waste I’ve cut down on is wild! And I recommend all the notetakers out there get their hands on it.

It’s great to have reusable straws, but what’s better than reusable plastic straws is this set of stainless steel straws. You don’t have to worry about them eventually wearing down over time or breaking. These straws are built to last for decades, are dishwasher safe, and come in straight and bent styles.
30. ATIFBOP Biodegradable Dog Poop Bags
Believe it or not, your poop bags can actually be better for the environment, too! With these, you can pick up the poop and mess from your pets without feeling bad about letting their totally decomposable waste create waste that isn’t decomposable. These bags biodegrade over time, minimizing waste in the simplest way possible.
31. Lulu Organics All Natural Dry Shampoo and Hair Powder
Just because you’re between showers doesn’t mean you want the whole world to know. Keep your hair looking freshly showered with this hair powder. Most dry shampoos come in metal containers that may or may not be recyclable. But this hair powder comes in a cardboard container that will biodegrade over time! It’s even talc-free and beautifully scented.
32. Kitsch Rice Water Protein Conditioner Bar
While you’re cutting back on the plastic shampoo containers, go ahead and get rid of the plastic conditioner containers, too! Replace them with this conditioner bar for deep conditioning without the plastic. And don’t worry – you can actually buy a mesh bag to keep this in so you don’t have to worry about dropping it and chasing it around the shower.
33. Utopia Kitchen Compost Bin
Composting doesn’t have to be an ordeal; you can actually start the process right there on your kitchen counter! I love my compact composter and how great what comes out of it is for my garden. Almost everything can go inside, and the sturdy top prevents any stink from leaking out into the house. I think everyone should have one!

35. Dr. Squatch All Natural Bar Soap
Things are classic for a reason, and bar soap is a classic choice because it gets you clean and doesn’t involve any extra plastics. These soap bars from Dr. Squatch are one of my favorites for the whole house. The scents are woodsy and warm, and the soap doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out and icky. Use them as hand soap or full body soap!
