It turns out, money can’t always buy good taste. Some of these celebrities have made bold design decisions that are just downright awkward. Grab your popcorn and settle in for these unfortunate celebrity home tours!

Cara Delevigne Has a Ball Pit and Dancing Pole

Architectural Digest

Honestly, we can’t even be that mad at Cara Delevigne for her design choices in her home. It is truly a reflection of her unique personality.

However, most people might find inviting guests to be slightly more awkward if they have to explain the ball pit in their home or the velvety pink lounge.

Did we mention the mirrored ceilings? Yes, the dancing pole room, which is covered in lush pink velvet, also features this incredibly awkward design choice.

John Stamos is a Disney Adult

Architectural Digest

Again, you can’t really blame John Stamos for his unique design decisions. His home is a reflection of his interests and passions, which this time, is Disney.

Stamos and his wife are big Disney fans, as evidenced by the Disney sign and amusement park ride stationed right there in their yard.

In his words, Stamos bought the sign on eBay before Disney fanhood became a trend. But the trend has come and gone, and still, the sign remains.

Scott Disick Really Likes Kitchen Islands

Architectural Digest

Have you ever looked at a kitchen island and thought, “Why aren’t there two of those?” No, we haven’t either, but Scott Disick’s interior designer did.

Disick describes his home as “farm-like,” but we’ve certainly never seen a farmhouse flaunt so much unnecessary counter space. What do you even do with it?

He says that when you’re in the kitchen, you feel like you’re in a “command center.” He also emphasizes that the counters are true Carrara marble.

Ashley Tisdale Probably Hasn’t Read All of Those Books

Architectural Digest

Books can make great decor, especially when you need to fill a wall or an empty shelf. But typically, you want to use books you’ll actually read.

Ashley Tisdale wanted to incorporate books into her home design, but she apparently didn’t actually have enough books to fill the space. So what did she do?

She bought a bunch of books exclusively for decor, of course! In fact, she only filled up the bookshelf with books a couple days before this tour.

David Dobrick Loves Clickbait

It used to be shocking to learn that a YouTube video creator could bring in millions of dollars a year. Today, it’s just an awkward truth we’re living with.

David Dobrick is one such example of a humble YouTuber who skyrocketed to internet fame and fortune. The theme of his merch? “Clickbait.”

So it makes sense that he would have an LED “Clickbait” sign in his home. Still, there’s something awkward about a YouTuber showcasing that word.

Robert Downey, Jr. Has a Nightmare Wall

Hey, if it brings you joy, go for it! We don’t want to yuck your yum. Still, there’s something very offputting about this feature wall.

Downey’s brother worked with a ceramicist to create what we can only describe as a monolith to adorn the wall behind the fireplace in the living room.

Apparently, Downey’s wife uses this space to meditate. We’re not so sure we would be able to do that with this thing looming over us.

JoJo Siwa Can’t Get Enough 7-11 Snacks

Famous Entertainment

Yet again, we really can’t fault celebs for spending their cash on making their homes truly reflective of who they are. And that’s definitely what happened here.

Apparently, JoJo Siwa just can’t get enough of 7-11’s tasty late-night snacks, so she actually put a whole 7-11 spread inside her home.

If she wants 7-11 nachos or even a Slushee, all she has to do is walk through her enormous LA mansion (no small feat) to grab a treat.

Neil Patrick Harris Has a Taxidermy Monkey Bar

Architectural Digest

Harris’s home was decked out for Christmas during this tour, which definitely earns him and his husband, David Burtka, some extra style points.

But that can’t hide the fact that they have an undeniably bizarre conversation starter at the center of their home. An interesting feature they call the “monkey bar.”

The catalyst for this feature was David’s interest in taxidermy. All of the monkeys are antique works, rather than recent hunts. We still think this bar is haunted.

Zedd Takes His Skittles Very Seriously

Architectural Digest

Russian-German DJ and record producer Zedd might have too much money on his hands. We only say that because some of his furniture and decor is…questionable.

Well, and because his LA mansion cost him a whopping $16 million. But most of all, it’s because of the Skittles machine that graces (or curses) his home.

The rest of the home is uber-modern, with minimalist lines and an indoor-outdoor feel. But turn the corner, and you’ll find a rainbow-bright, fully branded Skittles dispenser.

Chloe Fineman Keeps Wigs in the Oven

Architectural Digest

Hey, not everyone can be a master chef, OK? For Chloe Fineman, it’s more important to keep her wigs somewhere nice and safe.

After all, she lives in a Paris-inspired Apartment in NYC. You have to make space where you can, and in this case, that meant sacrificing the oven.

Still, it’s a little bit awkward to open up your oven to a pile of hair. We just hope she doesn’t forget they’re in there!

Wiz Khalifa Really Doesn’t Want to See the Neighbors

Architectural Digest

We can all relate to sometimes wishing our neighbors weren’t so close. But Wiz Khalifa is really taking that to a whole other level with this wall.

This great wall appears during Wiz’s car tour, but it really doesn’t get the attention it deserves. We guess that’s one approach to home security.

No matter what the reason is for this great wall of Wiz, it’s definitely not our idea of the ideal landscaping design. It is impressive, at the least.

David Harbour and Lilly Allen Took a Walk on the Wild Side

Architectural Digest

Actor David Harbour and singer-songwriter/actress Lily Allen live in wedded bliss in an eccentric townhouse in Brooklyn. But there’s one feature we can’t get past.

Step into the couple’s media room, and you might need to take a step back out to gather your wits. That’s because it’s completely adorned in tiger print.

It has a black-and-white tiger-print carpet from wall to wall and a huge tiger-print couch that takes up the space. Supposedly, it’s “relaxing.”

Emma Chamberlain is Obsessed with Peanut Butter

Architectural Digest

I mean, can you really blame her? Peanut butter is the perfect food. Creamy, sweet, and salty? Yes. It’s just sort of an odd interior design choice.

It works for Emma, whose whole brand is being quirky and relatable. The rest of her home is equally quirky, with artwork by her father throughout.

According to Emma, she ate so much peanut butter as a child that it was like “an entire food group” for her. Honestly, more power to her.

Dita Von Teese Has a Taxidermy Lion and a High-Heel Room

Architectural Digest

Dita Von Teese might have more in common with Neil Patrick Harris than you would have thought. They both deck out their homes in taxidermy.

For Dita, it’s a taxidermy lion, which somehow isn’t as offputting as multiple taxidermied monkies. Still, it wouldn’t be our choice.

In her maximalist haven, Dita also has a taxidermied rabbit wearing a tailcoat and multiple taxidermied birds inside heart-shaped domes.

Debby Ryan Has a Bust of Dwayne Johnson

Architectural Digest

There’s being a fan, and then there’s…this. It’s a whole new level of fandom that we hope never to reach, for the sake of our home decor.

Debby Ryan and her husband have a bust of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in their home. Why? In their words, he’s a “beacon of nobility.”

Really, the couple wanted to have a bust in their home because it’s a classic way to say, “I’ve made it.” And who better than The Rock himself?

Amanda Seyfried Has Toilet Art Throughout Her Home

Architectural Digest

Amanda Seyfried doesn’t live full-time in her NYC apartment, but for when she’s there, she wanted it to feel like home. Which means…toilets?

Throughout her beautifully minimalistic apartment, you can find toilet art. They range from potty bookends to painted images of a person on the toilet.

Amanda says it’s because she likes to “remember that we’re all human.” Well, that’s one way to keep our human-ness top-of-mind.

A Single Living Room Wasn’t Enough for Kerry Washington

Architectural Digest

Sure, we’ve heard of the rich and famous having multiple living rooms. One for reading, one for gathering with friends, one for watching movies.

But typically, those living rooms are in different…well, rooms. Not for Kerry Washington. No, she has two living room setups sitting back-to-back.

One side faces the Hudson River, while the other one faces the television. We can’t help but think that this arrangement isn’t ideal.

What is Tan France Doing with All Those Candles?

Architectural Digest

Queer Eye’s Tan France owns a gorgeous home that was built in 1906, which he apparently bought after seeing it only over Facetime.

Homes built in 1906 typically suffer from a lack of adequate storage space. But Tan seems to have the opposite problem: too much storage space.

Tan has a whole closet just for his candles. Apparently when he’s in a bad mood, his husband can find him standing there, smelling his candles.

Alexandre de Betak Has a Hidden Mirror Room

Architectural Design

We wish mirrored walls and ceilings only appeared once on this list. Or better yet, never. Unfortunately, here’s another example of this odd decision.

Alexandre de Betak and his wife’s home features a secret passageway hiding behind a bookshelf, leading to a very uncomfortable space.

It was supposed to be a mirrored gym, but realizing they’d never use it, they decided to turn it into a club-style pole-dancing room complete with flashing lights.

Tommy Hilfiger Has a Whole House for Questionable Design

Architectural Design

When you can afford more than half a dozen homes, why not turn one into a funhouse? That’s basically what Tommy Hilfiger did with his Miami home.

He describes it as “groovy, mod, contemporary,” and we have to agree. It’s bright and energetic —we’re just not sure we’d want to actually live there.

It features a migraine-inducing yellow polka-dot bedroom, a lifesize statue of a security guard, and scratch-and-sniff cherry wallpaper. We hope they have Advil on hand.
