Nothing brings stars back down to earth like a home tour. While there’s always an element of performance, there’s still room for authenticity. From prominent designers to world-famous reality stars, here are the most authentic celebrity home tours from Vogue.

!!"

Nadia Dhouib

Nadia Dhouib is a fashion collector with a killer sense of style. Based in Paris, every item in her apartment tells part of her story.

In this 2021 Vogue France apartment tour, Dhouib’s eyes light up as she recounts the history behind her decor. She clearly isn’t showing off for the cameras.

Sure, lots of the stuff in her apartment looks expensive. That’s to be expected. But it’s not expensive for expensive’s sake; she only purchases what she absolutely loves.

Vincenzo de Cotiis

An architect by trade, it makes sense why Vincenzo de Cotiis understands the ins and outs of his apartment’s history. Like Dhouib, everything in his home feels deliberate.

Despite the de Cotiis undeniably beautiful apartment, he and his wife seem like real people. We can probably chalk that up to the fact that they’re not super famous.

Still, there’s a real passion for architecture that’s impossible to miss. They chose this building because they love it, not to show off.

Edie Campbell

Edie Campbell is an English model living in Northamptonshire, a small town in England’s countryside. Her house is full of weird art pieces made by friends.

By “weird,” I don’t mean “a little unique.” I mean weird. For example, she has a yellow-green candle with a blobby base and a witch’s head at the center.

Heads are a recurring theme in her home decor. A painting of St. John the Baptist’s severed head hangs over her bed. She definitely didn’t stage that.

Nicole Richie

Let’s face it: Richie’s a former reality star. She owns the camera. I can’t help but be charmed. It’s one of the funniest celebrity house tours I’ve seen.

Richie gives Vogue a tour of her backyard, where her chickens (two of which are named “Queen Latifah” and “Popsicles”) live. Apparently, they have an “all-female book club.”

You can’t make this up. She says quotable lines like it’s nothing. I need “I’m a mother, a wife, and a Virgo” on a t-shirt, stat.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter clearly had a lot of fun making this one. The pop singer introduces herself as Troy Bolton, then tries (and fails) to shoot hoops.

Sure, it’s probably staged. But who doesn’t love a High School Musical reference? Plus, there’s these little moments where she addresses the camera that add to the tour’s appeal.

Viewers seem to agree. At the time of this writing, her home tour has racked up over four million views, with commenters gushing over her genuineness.

Hamish Bowles

Hamish Bowles’s apartment looks pretty much like what you’d expect an eccentric magazine editor’s crib to look like. There’s one catch, though: he’s moving.

The apartment is wonderful, but is a bit cluttered, with paintings and mementos marked with Post-It notes to help Bowles organize. Every single one is worth reminiscing over.

His tour feels like the accumulation of all of his years in New York, as much for him as it is for us. He’s a great storyteller, too.

Jenna Lyons

If you’re a Real Housewives fan, you’ve probably already seen this one. Jenna Lyons, a successful designer and businesswoman, charmed America in 2023 when she joined RHONY.

During her tour, Lyons manages to successfully straddle the line that often divides glamor from authenticity. She’s poised, elegant, and classy as all get out.

She seems to approach her home like a creative project, and one that she’s proud of at that. Her design skills are definitely paying off.

Alexander Wang

For a designer as famous as Alexander Wang, you might expect him to be a bit more snooty. But he seems like a really chill guy.

Sure, having a full jacuzzi tub in a New York apartment isn’t that relatable. (At least, not to me. If it is to you, can we be friends?).

“You know what?” he says, laughing. “I’m gonna put a jacuzzi tub in there.” Be honest: if you could put a jacuzzi in your room, wouldn’t you?

Kim Kardashian

Unless you’re a diehard Kardashian fan, you probably didn’t expect to see her on this list. But her 2022 home tour really shined a light on the real Kim.

Towards the beginning of the video, she reveals meticulously kept scrapbooks she has for each of her children. They contain hospital details, family history, etc.

Her mother did the same for her, and she doesn’t want her kids to lose a single memory. How could you not be a little touched by that?

Gisele Bündchen

Right off the bat, you can tell how much Giselle Bündchen adores her animals. It doesn’t seem staged, either — she pauses the tour to pet her cat.

There’s little moments like this sprinkled throughout that make the interview worthwhile. She rarely looks at the camera, opting to speak directly to the crew instead.

Towards the end of the video, she offers the crew snacks while she cooks and asks for their opinions on incense. This isn’t a performance — it’s Giselle.

Sibella Court

While her name isn’t as widely known outside of her field, this Australian interior designer clearly knows what she’s doing. Her home is equal parts chic and comfy.

Court admits that it’s hard to turn her work brain off, so she’s always reworking her home’s style. She says it’s a hindrance, but it definitely pays off!

However, the tour’s best parts don’t concern the house itself, but what she keeps in it. Court proudly displays her daughter’s art, and shows her own artistic process.

Sophie Fontanel

Following a devastating loss, Sophie Fontanel took stock of her life and asked herself: “What do I want the most?” It was simple — an apartment overlooking the Tuileries Garden.

This video is more than just an apartment tour. It’s Fontanel’s dream, realized. Repurposed out of old maid’s quarters, she makes the one-room apartment both homey and glamorous.

Unlike other celebrity homes, her decor isn’t comprised of multimillion dollar artifacts. Take the sofa, for instance, which was scratched to near-death by her neighbor’s cat. Been there.

Ulap

Samar Seraqui de Buttafoco — or Ulap, for short — is a Lebanese French influencer. She calls herself a “citizen of the world,” and her apartment reflects that journey.

We get a glimpse of her everyday life through her home and its decor. Her idols, her activism, her insecurities — all of it is on display.

She seems to have a fun personality, but is still able to take herself and her work seriously. Ultimately, she’s an admirable person (who makes great hummus).

Olivier Rousteing

Olivier Rousteing, designer for Balmain, is yet another Parisian with a gorgeous home. It’s down-to-earth in a literal sense, with plants all around and a wall of bamboo.

Of course, Rousteing himself is figuratively down-to-earth, too. Like Kim K, he keeps a scrapbook to stay grounded and remember where he came from.

Even though he’s surrounded by so much luxury, the scrapbook has had the intended effect. He’s very grateful to his adoptive parents, and is very humble about it all.

Zara Larsson

In 2020, Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson gave this tour for British Vogue’s “Perfect Night In” series. Like most of us during COVID, Larsson spends it lounging in her PJs.

When Larsson welcomes the camera crew into her home, she offers them all UGG slippers to walk around in. They’re her slippers, but she doesn’t mind.

Honestly, she’s just very normal. Her apartment is nice, but it’s not too extravagant. Plus, she’s a Bridgerton fan. That’s a big win in my book.

Ryan Destiny

Another “Perfect Night In” installment, actress and singer Ryan Destiny’s apartment tour is pretty similar to Larsson’s in terms of relatability. That’s probably because they’re both COVID-era videos.

Arguably, the best part is towards the end. Destiny decides to end her night with a freshly-baked cake and the Sims, eating spoonfuls of cake batter.

I got the feeling that she would’ve been sitting there, gaming, and chowing down on cake without the camera in her face. Also, I need to try that cake.

Karen Gillan

Karen Gillan, sci fi superstar, is a huge nerd. Who would’ve guessed? As soon as British Vogue’s camera crew enters her house, she’s showing off her horror movie merch.

Her enthusiasm is infectious. Even when she’s not talking about her nerdy passions, she’s obviously having a good time, watching Love Island and yelling at her TV screen.

Even though this is another “Perfect Night In,” she doesn’t really end the night relaxed. She’s exactly like you’d be if British Vogue was in your house.

Jahnvi Kapoor

In 2022, Jahnvi Kapoor gave Vogue India a house tour. Her family is prominent in India’s entertainment industry, so it’s cool to catch a glimpse of their lives.

Her mother, Sridevi, was a Bollywood megastar. She passed away four years prior to the video’s release; you can tell that her presence is still felt in their home.

As they walk through her family’s Chennai home, Kapoor keeps spotting family memorabilia and sharing sweet anecdotes. Even if you’re unfamiliar with her, it’s charming (and tear-jerking).

Erykah Badu

Singer Erykah Badu treats her home like a spiritual oasis. Everything, from her oversized tuning fork to her singing bowls, is meant to nurture and inspire.

Badu has a calming energy that starts to rub off on you as the video progresses. She’s unique and unapologetic, proud of the work she’s done on herself.

At the end, she genuinely thanks Vogue for the time they spent together. When she tells them she’s going to go look at the stars, I believe her.

Karl Lagerfeld

This celebrity home tour is a bit of an outlier, given two years after Lagerfeld’s passing. His longtime friend and colleague, Amanda Harlech, gives it in his stead.

Harlech speaks about him with such affection that it’s hard not to love him, too. She shares memories of their nights together, eating dinner and watching TV.

She smiles so widely when she shares each memory. She’ll look away from the camera when she talks, and you can tell that she’s remembering him.
